I think Viktor has a 6" with a TB from a Chevy or something. Looks crazy.

Matt Smith is a legend. Pretty much if he says it, it can be taken as gold. He is the reason my truck is up and running perfectly.

Transmission tuning was done by Chris @ Prospeed as part of my remote tuning package.

What do you mean by 'Gear Lock'? ProSpeed set my Tow/Haul button to lock my transmission in whatever gear I put it in manually... So if that's what you mean.. We did it on mine. It was required for tuning.

I saw they have a custom billet upper oil pan with a lower oil pan that looks like it's quite a bit bigger. So hard to get parts from over there back here though, never heard back from PerfectLamda that makes the plug and play adapter for the bigger GM throttle body that Viktor is rocking.

I think that one has a Harrop, Harrop or HP interviewed them. Dig the widebody kit; looks like a bulldog.

Yup you’re right. Here was that video which includes some more details on it. Reminds me of @Fastlane47 truck but this one is 4x4 I think. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tRwj6256Kbw

Gear lock is activated when you press T/H with the VFT tune...it ensures you srat un the gear you select and will not shift for you while in (S)equential mode...amazing features for towing...I hope HPt finds this stuff out!!

With VFT it's supposed to be when the shifter was put in S-Mode and a top gear was selected, like 2nd, if you punched it, it wouldn't downshift. The same for any other higher gear, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th. It worked for some TCUs, others (like mine) needed a workaround where it would only function as intended if it was in S-Mode and T/H were both activated. Viktor attempted to replicate it with HPT, but the problem was that if you came to a stop, or slowed enough for the trans to downshift, it wouldn't upshift, even if you were to have had S-Mode set to 6th gear. If you came to a complete stop, it would not upshift from 1st gear even if you had a higher gear selected. Viktor told me that HPT didn't have access to all the tables needed for it to function as requested, or like it would in VFT.

I asked around about seeing if there was a way to flash just the TCU or just the ECU so I could have Viktor's fueling tweaks and VFT's GL and DS features, but apparently it can't be done on the Tundras. I understand that it can on the Tacomas (flashing of just the TCU).

    So just a 75mm and 650s and it’s running 12s? I can dig that.

Question: I have a 2017 5.7 Flex fuel Magnusen supercharged Tundra Stage 1. Does anyone know what the part number is or what the best high output fuel pump I need? The stock pump is not providing enough output pressure and I want to upgrade it. Thanks.

I think it has ARH headers as well, but it seems that’s about it.

If you’re not looking to go crazy with future mods and plan to keep it under 600whp the Deatschwerks 300c 340LPH is going to be the easiest fuss free drop in replacement IMO. You can also go with a bigger Walbro/Ti 450 as a few guys here have with a little more modification to the fuel basket situation which I’m sure someone else would be happy to explain.

Hmm. Something must have changed cause that's exactly what they had me doing. They'd have me shift into 3rd and roll at like 20mph and then floor it and it would not shift at all. It stayed in 3rd until I manually shifted.

On my prior 2010 I had an OV/VF tune and the gear lock was all jacked up IMO. I would be towing and want to use tow/haul for the other benefits of it, and it would lock in whatever gear I had picked previously in S mode even in D if it was in tow haul. I was expecting it to only lock the gear in S mode. I lugged that engine like a SOB up the first hill til I realized it wouldn’t come out of gear lock unless I took it out of tow/haul or switched back to S and manually downshifted. I hope they fixed that on the new revisions!

I/YotaWerx helped Mat/VF with testing the new gearlock + direct shift for 2018+ Tundra to confirm function and it works great. Test truck was my 2020.

The feature is already released actually for 2018+, but I did notice that some of the tables were missing after the patch is applied so I reported that to Mat and it sounds like that'll be fixed in the big VF 1.7 update that's about to drop.

It uses S-mode only to engage it, no need to set it to T/H

I’m still thinking that is false. I tried looking it up, and the last time magnuson was reacquired was in 2010 by a private equity firm who appears to still own it. I think that is another one of those poorly written clickbait articles written by a wannabe automotive journalist. I see a lot of articles that look like they come from a reliable source, yet their only resource for info is from the comments section of a Facebook page from people they likely didn’t ask permission. Could be wrong though. :notsure:

It seemed to work on some TCUs but not others. There were recommended settings for tuning/dyno that may not have been great for daily driving. The 14+ ECU/TCUs were different as well, I think they had more RAM and even more different tables.

I have a theory I'd like to test on my truck to see if I can implement it (I just keep forgetting lol), but I don't really anticipate it working so I want to say it's not possible with the current tools available

The way Mat has been indicating his road map for various EROM features coming for different vehicles, I wonder if it's possible to give the GL/DS I helped test to the 2007-17, and maybe he just has it planned for a future feature release rather than all at once.

Damn that sucks. Sorry to hear it has been such a hassle. I've been down that road of saying "i wish i just left it alone." many many times. Hopefully you will have a finished truck soon so you can enjoy!

We've all been there, but the beauty of these trucks is once you've got it sorted, its pretty darn reliable for what it is, one stomp on the hwy merging will make all this worth it.

I've seen that track, there's one thing we have to keep in mind, those 1/4 mile facilities in Middle East make typical North American tracks look like road side motel, I've never seen such beautiful paved surface, I would not be surprise the results on those strips can be hard to replicate else where.

True, but I think it’s doable given the mods. I test drove a 2014 TRD SC truck before buying mine and supercharging it. Part of the reason I didn’t buy it was I discovered there is a ton of videos of it at the drag strip on YouTube. He ran several 13.1’s on a bone stock TRD blower and tune. He said his best was a 12.8. I ran a 13.6 with 500lbs of extra weight on the truck. I bet I could hit a 13.1 if I removed it.

Its also probably hot as balls all the time in the UAE which hurts performance.
