Prospeed's instructions dont say to drill extra holes in the basket.. they're going off their guide.

Yeah, but they will tell you to do so in person. Much like how the stock fuel lines are big enough to supply, the stock basket inlet isn't big enough either. I drilled out the stock inlet to 3/8" and added 3 more 3/8" holes just about 2 inches up from the bottom in a sort of North, South, East, West config.

It's how I did mine, also in the URD instructions (how I did my Tacoma, same housing as Tundra) to run the hose clamp through to keep the pump in place. I updated my photo in the previous post to more clearly show it

I wasn't told about the additional holes in the fuel basket until my follow-up tune, kind of like the larger hole in the inner fender for the air intake...never mentioned until the follow-up. My initial dyno tune was done with their 4.5" intake and fuel system, and they actually installed the intake because when I bought it, it didn't fit the Harrop.

    Here's how holes look (SFW!)

Had to recess the hose clamp a little so it clears the fuel tank opening on reinstall

I suggest people use the Tacoma URD fuel pump instructions, they're better than ProSpeed and it's literally the exact same job

    Fuel pump install instructions

Page 13+ talks about the holes but only for hose clamping the pump. Never heard about additional holes for flow, but then again it doesn't sound like ProSpeed mention the hose clamp aspect...

I'm paying extra labor due to crap instructions from supplier. That's the way the cookie crumbles. I also wasn't told about the fender cutout until after everything was installed

You'd think premium products would have premium instructions...I bought and installed myself, a $7800 coilover conversion kit for the Jeep. Worst instructions I've read, ever. They even say in the beginning "no bitching and moaning. This is a professional kit". Instructions would show pictures next to description but at the oddest angles they could come up with. Or say "do this to the passenger side" but show a picture of the driver's side with a part from two pages ahead already installed. I swear I wasted more time trying to understand their instructions than I did actually doing most of the work.

    End rant

Well shit, I guess I am going to order the PS rails and line kit. Idk if the lines on the 2019+ changed but the connectors I got are wrong type, also the lines I was going to connect to are different. The ViktorG mod has you connecting in them, whereas the ProSpeed on connects into the top of the fuel pump housing. I wish they sold the line kit seperately, or that XAT offered a line kit for their rails. Luckily I bought all my fuel components off Amazon and still in the return window

This gets confusing to think about. In my case for example mine was running more rich sooner in the pedal travel with the straightener installed (getting into part throttle enrichment faster). As in it thinks it’s reading more air than is really entering the engine so it dumps more fuel in than is needed and subsequently I could see you getting rich long term fuel trims from the straightener if it wasn't tuned with it installed. That’s why I removed mine right away when I saw my wideband was behaving differently than usual. When I adjust the tune for the new intake I’ll have the straightener installed from the get go and tune it that way.

Thanks for this. In essence the screen makes the MAF read more air than what is getting to the engine. That is a possibility.

New MAF is on order, we'll see if the issue returns after I replace the part.

I'm not closed to the idea that I introduced some type of constraint between the sensor and the engine or even a leak. I may simplify the intake and go with a custom single tube between the filter and the TB if the issue resurfaces.

None of this is on the local shop as they are a Harrop dealer but never have installed anything outside of a stage 1 kit and they don't tune. I purchased everything through PS except for the remote tuning as a local guy said he could do it with his HPT software. Everything gets installed first week of December. Local guy screws with the truck for two days and cries about a KCLV value and points finger at local shop to check for leaks etc. They find no leaks and truck idles great and drives normal with no CEL, but not WOT. Local tuner gives up after I ask Prospeed questions.

I order Prospeed's remote tuning service roughly third week of December and their RTD's are out of stock for three weeks.. truck sits. I pay overnight shipping once RTD's land at Prospeed's facility to get to me. Prospeed ships RTD and it ends up at my door.. Prospeed forgets to put the obd2 cable in the box with the device. I call.. days later they ship it ground with no apology. I had to call Chris @ PS multiple times to get him to send me instructions on where to begin with the tuning. We're now last week at this point and now I'm battling this fuel pump bs. Really wish I would've left the truck alone at this point.

Dude is smarter than me, I don't know what's he's talking about. What I do know is there's a 267 and 274 part number for the 450 pump. I have the 274 and never had any issues and have the pump zip tied to the wall of the basket with a rubber fuel hose and two hose clamps.

Walbro site says they are both 14.1 AMP pumps. And the only difference I'm reading between the two are that the 274 had a high pressure range of 113 instead of 85.

Pretty sure that jet pump hea talking about is built into the fuel pump housing and is part of that tiny black line I mentioned in other previous post, to remove

Odd question maybe, but does engine braking change noticeably Afyer SC installed?
Wouldn't mind at all if it was better for towing..

Not odd, but this is directly related to tuning...HPt can do a lot but VFT can do more for transmission stuff...just engine braking/downshifting when in T/H mode can be augmented to suit.
