Need a couple testers for heavy duty coil springs

I was speaking to the gentleman that actually designed and made the springs for me, we had a great conversation and as per our discussion he’s going to create another version of the rear springs, the current ones I have installed are 2” taller then stock and 35% higher weight/payload capacity which in turn will be perfect for those who have permanent weight added such as truck campers or work space caps etc, however mine in empty unless the trailer is on and is causing some slight issue with maintaining contact with the ground and the back end dancing around on bumps.

So after some great discussions He decided he’s going to create a second version of these springs which will be 1” ride height increase and only 20% weight increase over stock. He said that he’ll have a set made up and shipped out for me to swap out and see how they preform in a week or 2.

I will add to this post when I receive them and post install and ride height changes and ride quality, as they only take about 30- 45 mins to swap out.

Haha well not much are work driving around in a bran new truck. But I am very grateful for getting free springs to try out, and work them to improve my business. I was debating adding air bags but I like the thought of this as it has less maintenance.

I’m sure the second set will be perfect for my situation, with slightly better ride quality and little less rake when empty.

 

was looking at your setup and rough weigh load on your truck, I dare say the current spring I have installed will prob work out fantastic for your truck..

 

Adding ~ 850lbs on those new front spring..
and haven’t recieved the new rear + 20% spring rate yet so took the 35% one out and cut 1” of height out of them for now. Much more satisfied with empty ride height, and not quite as harsh ride now. Will still keep updating when the new model becomes available. As for now though the fronts are taking the added weight beautifully, and still need to add some counter weight to the rear. (Prob 4-500lb)

 

How does the empty ride compare to the stock springs?

I'm thinking about eventually putting the general springs in to handle the occasional load and towing better but also to give a slight lift instead of going with a full on lift kit, since I don't want to go more than an inch or two up.

 

Heavy rate springs and 10ply tires, ride is a little rugged. Definitely noticeable over stock quality. Of front air pressure stays at 32-35 psi would absorb most of the road, and @GeneralSpring is currently making 1” lift and 20% increase for payload in the rear. Which will improve ride quality in the rear for me. Just shortening the 35% in the rear has improved them quite a bit.. but ride quality is that of prob 3/4 ton for me with aired up tires and spring. But once pinned on to trailer feels like stock again and smooth as glass, with less of the roller coaster bouncing in the rear over bumps.

 

If you’re still looking for beta testers I’d be interested! I have a 23 and it pulls my a toyhauler loaded. Would be great to have a heavier spring in the rear. I don’t mind 1-2” eta height in the rear since I will be putting a 4wheeler in the bed before I hook up the toyhauler so the truck is loaded!

 

Any updates on available rear HD springs? I am getting my 2023 this week and will be carrying around 600-700lbs in the bed at all times. I would really prefer HD springs to airbags or timbrens. Any contact info or website for available options?

currently looking to lower front 2” and rear 4”. SOS has a front kit but rear coil drops are not out there yet. Any help would be appreciated.

 

I have a 22 6.5ft bed 1794 army green and would like to be able to tow my camper with my quad in the bed!! Are these tests still taking place I really don’t want to go to a superduty I love my truck just want less squat!!

 

I will be shopping around for some soon, got a four wheel camper coming and it will live in the bed of my tundra. 400ish constant lbs.

How are the HD springs working out for you?

 

With the 1" lift in the rear would I remove the Timbrens?

 

They are great! Like I said, built for work.. if you want stock ride, prob not the best option. But running 10ply tires and at 60-70 psi and running up to max payload and trailering capacity, works beautifully.

 

I’d be interested if you can accommodate the 3” TRD lift.

 

No luck finding any HD coil springs for a Tundra without additional lift. A number of solutions for Ram… I get its volume driven but coil springs are very low capital investment to create. I tow a lot and don’t want lift… just less squat to offset with WD hitch.

 

I did a 1" Westcott spacer in the back. It was enough to take some squat away. The weird bonus was that the rear of the truck seemed to become more compliant. This really made the ride better. Easy install too.
