The little plastic at the base of the antenna broke off at some point and wanted to see if anyone had a replacement part that they recommended I get. I noticed that the antenna also comes lose often, so if you also have a suggestion as far as a new antenna goes I’d appreciate it. I noticed the thread part isn’t straight anymore. This is honestly the most difficult part to remove from a tundra.
Has got to be some kind of Christmas miracle.

Also, a car wash will do both to mount and antenna.

@War Machine may delete his suggestion if you’ve been doing the car wash thing.

This happened to my 2010 CrewMax, so glad the Sequia does not have it.

    Sorry OP.

Make sure to get the genuine Toyota antenna grommet. I bought an aftermarket one on Amazon first and the material it was made of was much stiffer. It would not install correctly and I ended up punching a hole through it trying to push it into position with a screwdriver even after I applied some WD40 to make installation easier.

Not sure what part we are talking about here. My stock (2017) antenna has a hex section on the bottom that screws onto the threaded stud that sticks up from the antenna mount on the fender. This mount seems to have a rubber boot over it. I believe it has been this way since new. All seems to work, so I am trying to understand what this issue is?

OP initially asked for the rubber boot/ grommet. Then, a few posts later also asked for a suggestion for a shorty antenna

The rubber boot tends to dry out and crack over time.

    Good for you..

    It's a noted common issue.
Probably more with vehicles parked outside 24/7 in extreme temps for a few years..

    If it hasn't happened to you I'd guess you're a lucky MF'er..
    Congrats..
