The rubber fitting on the antenna rotted out. I picked up a replacement yesterday. I started to order from Amazon, but the reviews were a bit iffy on fit so I stopped by the dealer.

I checked a couple of Youtube videos and decided to try the replacement this morning. One video recommended taping of the area around the hole and using a thin bladed knife to cut the old rubber, another recommended loosening the fender well and accessing that way. When I started pulling off the old rubber, it had split all the way down and fell into the fender well.

I cleaned the area around the hole, lubed the new part with some Ballistol, and snapped it into place.

Now my wife's cowgirl is right back where she belongs.

That shelf begs to be a pull out extension for easy access to everything on it.

I believe a speaker would have been there if I got the JBL edition or whatever.

in my 2010 I tried putting a speaker in there but it seemed pointless, so in this 2013 I cut it out to make it an access panel to access my alpine mini-amp and help usher all the wires and stuff into the dash unpon re-installation.

all the clips are on the border, so it can be trimmed a lot and still pops into place without incident.
    ………………..
I moved my hi lift jack off of the Victory panels and onto its own dedicated mount bc it was a bit rattly on rear wall (I have 4 full size kicker 12s)

next I need to mount my traction boards and other items on the victory Molly panels. I’m trying to do all the off-roading stuff in a way that I can take off and use with minimal effort/time /tools, AKA wing nuts etc bc I don’t wanna be covered in mud trying to get a 10mm nut on a socket to loosen recovery items.

Replaced dead radio with alpine ilx-f411 $850 bestbuy on sale

added a backup USB voltometer bc why would I need a cigarette lighter in 2022?

while in there I replaced backup camera with Pixelman wide angle camera, wired it to toggle next to USB port for radio (old Aux) so I can view backup camera while driving

Only issue - I didn’t attach the radio brackets properly I’m guessing so it kinda wobbles if pushed too hard, doesn’t fall out but is annoying so i gotta figure that out still.

painted new radio trim to match the rest of the interior pieces so now the only charcoal gloss I have left is the AC control panel but that’s ok for now.

thats the camera and the license plate “sound proofing”

Betty sat all day and collected dust.

Changed oil in the "cherro" and did a couple little nagging things on the bmw tho!

...Also this toy arrived in the mail today:

Will be fun to find an untitrusive spot to Stash it in the truck (while being able to roll a bit).

I have a couple bmw hot wheels in a useless divot in the center console of the e34.

Took the shop a few days due to unforeseen issues, but got my 3” Coachbuilders Shackles installed. Truck sits much more level now!

Couldn't get the 10 ply Michelins to ride right on my truck.

Went with some Yokohama P rated tires.

    PXL_20220804_221013205.jpg PXL_20220804_220304084.jpg

Back to my 20" wheels. No P-rated tires in a 275/70R18. 275/60R20 on the new Yokos.

10 miles in, the ride issues have been solved.

Really having a hard time not regretting not going with these. :notsure:

I took 6mo off from this forum, bought a house. Thought I was gonna sell the truck. Talked myself out of it. The reliable F150s I want are hard to find. I wanted to downgrade and make some money off the tundra. But I have a hard time letting go of the 5.7.
Read 40 pages of this thread, walked around the truck, and started thinking about what's next.
    - paint hood and roof, replace roof trim, fresh bed liner touchup on all plastic pieces
    - install trans cooler
    - cat plates
    - piggyback rear shocks

Added a new anti-carjacking device. Got rid of the Ruger LCP MAX since I was having so many issues with it and went back with another SIG P365, 9MM, except this one has a safety. The first one I had was flawless and kept kicking myself for selling it. Just pray that I never have to use it.

If you are a man of faith, most likely you won't ever need a gun. Word of God is your better weapon, brother.

I haven't done anything to my tundra in a while, other than 1 year oil change, didn't quite make it to 10k this time. It's a good feeling when you don't have to do repairs on your work vehicle; just regular maintenance. Thank you, Jesus!!

I am man of both faith and ccw in that order.

My belief is that the hero from Indiana that stopped the would-be mass shooter was guided by a much higher power. 8 of 10 shots from a pistol hit home on a moving target at 40 yards. I would be impressed if it were a highly trained officer. It's unbelievable for an average Joe.

I don't know all the reasons why bad things happen to good people, and I accept that, but I watch for the miracles.

Tundra performed admirably and did everything she was asked like it was easy. I ran out of trail after picking the wrong side of a gully in the trail. Was "forced" to cross back over at an inopportune spot and dragged the rear diff thru the rocky mud a touch. No harm, no problem.

As you can see, we caught a thunderstorm so we had the mountain to ourselves.

To expand on what I mentioned earlier, apparently the atlas leaf springs that came with my lift kit were a bastardized size. A smaller size between the original leaf spring eyelets and the same now produced size. Large - small - large.

so my shackles had bearings that were too large to fit into the leaf springs.

after talking with David at Coachbuilders, we just ended up having the shop put them on a lathe and turn them down a bit.

End result turned out great. But I’m sure they had a time getting the old bushings out which is why we couldn’t reuse them. See below

With criminals not being punished like they were in the past, they have become more brazen/bold than ever before. With all the shootings at soft targets, I don’t plan to be a victim. I’m not a very religious person, but I do believe in a higher power. I’m also a major believer in Karma. I consider my guns to be firearms, the only time they are weapons is when they are pointed at somebody, which I hope is never. I’m not a violent person, even on the road, which can be hard sometimes. I just like to be prepared. I also carry a first aid kit, flashlight, and tools as well.

Yes, they came with the tonneau, for an extra fee. I spray painted them black so they would blend in better,
