    Data point. Mine has it.

took delivery on cloudy 10 degree day. I’m home now and it’s under the PPF o had some too. Using a heat gun and its resolving, even under the PPF.

Worst case if the paint messes up later on there is well documented incidences, pictures, and tsb.

Why did I think that this had been declared a rumor, and that the white paint on MY 22+ was no longer single stage? I know it was on previous models, I just thought I had read here that this was no longer the case

Good to know. Thanks for the clarification! I really like the look of the truck in white, but single stage is a turn off.

Super white is dead. It's Ice Cap now. :p It's the same paint code, but they changed the name for some reason. Also, lots of indicators if you search that they did away with the single stage quite a while ago.

I know a former Toyota Painter (he painted the gen 1 tundras when they were build in Indiana) and he retired recently. Said they had moved away from single stage paint a long time ago. I know, it's just a guy on the internet that "knows a guy" but you can do your own googling and find it.

Right, but that's not the Toyota factory. That's a shop that does it for a dealership. Not saying your wrong, and who knows, maybe they went back to it. I have no way to verify it 100% either way, and I don't have a white truck either. Just going off what the guy told me, but the info is worth what you paid for it.

As many have said I am really surprised that the dealer would let this vehicle leave their lot looking like that. It makes me wonder if they took so long to finish the deal so that it was dark when you took it home and maybe wouldn't notice. Shame on them for that if that is what they did. I definitely would not tolerate that and they would be correcting the issue or taking the truck back. It does kind of look like it's some kind of film on the areas that needs to be peeled off, but I would make the dealer take care of it and make sure that whatever it is that they are fixing it and not you. They mess it up and it is their problem and not yours.
    Good Luck to you.

Not sure if someone else has answered this correctly but I'm 99.9% sure that is shipping damage from "wrap gaurd". Big white sheeting that can come up and flap causing blemishing.

More of what I've seen recently is what I believe is wrap gaurd being out on to ship maybe too early and the clear coat isn't hardened enough yet.

Either way, I would say more times than not, this is very common and is usually easily corrected with light buff/polish. This case is definitely more severe than I've seen, but I'm dumbfounded it would even be a chance it would be delivered like that. Amazed the customer would even be made aware of it as long as the proper fix is done during PDI/quality inspections

You just bought a TRD Pro in Lunar Rock, correct?

Wonder if the issue is on all trucks

Arg, so no escaping the issue then, had my WCP Platinum this past summer and didn't notice this issue, but now waiting on my Supersonic Red one, should be here in the next month, really hoping it doesn't have it.

It’s honestly a non issue. I had my PPF pulled off and reapplied today for the fended that had it. Nothing happened.

Had mine repaired. They did a very nice job using heat gun and heat lamps and am satisfied with the outcome.

There is a difference between clear coat separation or bubbles (both relatively uncommon) and cloudy/milky marks in the clear coat from the protective film (somewhat common). I believe it’s just absorbed moisture that will go away after sitting in the sun, never to return!

I researched the crap out of this back in 2005 because my Scion TC had it and this was my first new car purchase so I was all over every detail.

These bubbles were only in areas that were covered by the factory applied shipping protectors on the hood, top of front fenders (but not on the sides of the front fenders). I've seen pictures of at least one more 2023 Tundra in Magnetic Grey that had bubbles in the same places and on a rectangular strip above the windshield. Service manager said that it's highly likely that this happened when they pulled the protectors off the truck, clear coat wasn't fully cured and was lifted off the paint. If it absorbed moisture like you say, it would absorb it randomly, not just in these areas but also on the lower part of the front fenders, doors, rear fenders, tailgate, but that was not the case. The areas where these bubble were, were also the most exposed to the sun so it should be the least prone to moisture bubbles than say tailgate or the sides.

Data point. My 24’ TRD PRO has it on the hood. See attached. My detailer found it after first wash. I only have 200 miles on the truck now it’s in for a warranty claim what a bummer. Said it could be a few weeks before I get it back if they need to reclear the hood. I didn’t want to heat gun the paint and get hung with that if something went wrong on my end, so off to the dealer she went.

Also has a few popped paint bubbles. Nothing crazy but definitely not the fit and finish desired.

Dealer is paid by Toyota to inspect and prep the vehicles before delivery. There's even a TSB on paint issues for 3G Tundra. I would not accept to have repainted panels on a brand new truck. It's dealer's responsibility to find these defects and not sell the truck like that. I would take it back and demand a replacement truck or else tell them you're going to contact your lawyer. It worked for me.

Moisture might be gone but the clear coat did not bond to the paint in those spots even if they used a heat gun. My best guess is that because it's exposed to UV and it goes through hot/cold cycles on a daily basis, the clear coat is going expand/contract at different rates than the body panel and it will eventually crack and peel in those spots over the years.

Yeah the dealer repainted the hood and rear quarter of my truck. It looks perfect now and honestly can't tell it was repainted. Even looking up close with a flash light you can't tell. They definitely didn't do the heat gun trick because I have receipts of all of the moldings they had to order once it was repainted. To be honest I don't think they were aware of the heat gun fix. Since mine is a 24 TRD PRO and outside of the 2022 window listed on the TSB.
