My deepest sympathies, there are no words suitable and while I don't know you personally, little as it is, know that I hold you and your family in my heart.

Just saw this thread. It’s a gut punch.

Im just a random internet stranger. Suicide is a bitch for families. Both of my parents committed suicide over 25 years ago. It’s not something you ever just get over. Hopefully, you’ll learn to process your grief and stave off the demons that rear up from time to time.

My youngest daughter tried to overdose last year. By the grace of God, she threw up twice in the night. That event triggered a cascade of pent up emotions that I had no idea still existed.

Take care of your family. Get counseling. Make sure the other kids know they are loved. Truly. Mental health issues are a challenge, but every bit as real as diabetes or a heart condition.

I can’t say the hurt ever really goes away, but there is peace. Don’t try to understand why. Allow yourself to be angry. And then accept your son was in a place so dark this was his only apparent option.

Praying for you and your family tonight.

    John 16:22

22 So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.

    Anthony,
While we are all celebrating with our families tonight and tomorrow, I can’t help but think about you and your family. I hope that you are all finding strength and hope this week, even if just little by little. Remember that so many of us are just a call or a PM away if you need anything at all.

    Merry Christmas

We'll all be there in spirit, Anthony. If my schedule permitted and I were anywhere close, I'd be there. If there's anything I can do, PM me.

I can't be there; but if you wouldn't mind, if you can share the time, I'll make a point of it to pray for you and your family specifically at that time, if you're OK with that.

I'm so sorry you and your family have to go through such a horrific time... I have a niece that tried to take her life once, needless to say my heart broke, love her as if she was my own.

Can't do much other than offer my condolences and hope your son has found peace.

    Lots.
So sorry to hear of your loss, deepest condolences to you and your family from mine. Our family also lost a cherished loved one on the 8th of December this year, through different circumstances but a terrible shock to us all just the same. December has historically been a hard month for our family through the years with the loss of my father, brother, father-in-law and mother-in-law in Decembers past. I know from experience how hard it is going through the holiday season (and any other time) with an ache in your heart that can't be salved. Reading through these posts there have been a lot of beautiful words written and advice offered. It serves to illustrate that we are all the same on a basic human level and compassion for others is a wonderous thing.

Cherish the good memories of your son. Let everything else go. We all should be remembered for how we lived our life and not how or why it ended, in every circumstance.

May the new year bring you all solace and peace.

Tough thread to read, very sorry for your loss. Hopefully the ceremony yesterday is able to provide some closure and begin the healing process.
