This is awesome, though! In all likelyhood I'll buy this and mod it up to the current Stillen intake. I was already thinking to do that, but didn't know that product existed. Should make it a lot easier.

Is the Prospeed a 4.5" INSIDE diameter or OUTSIDE?

Just the maf housing. Will see how well it mocks up with the Stillen tube. Will decide if I cut up Stillen tube later or just replace it altogether.

Lol sorry man! Sniv will probably be selling his though in the future! Unfortunately not, all I have is the stock airbox which is why I’m maxing out the MAF and need the magnuson box. Seems as though you may be making your own intake anyway though, which I also considered doing.

I'll be getting rid of mine once I move to that new setup I mentioned. Gold foil included.

It's a shame prospeed wouldn't sell their MAF tube separately when I asked. As much as they up sale, they missed out on $100!

Does anyone know why they have it suck in hot engine air?

    4.5" OD.

MRP and PS are both fairly close ID. Within an 1/16th or less; MRP is larger than the 4.25" they state on the site.

Unless you get the PS airbox I think you'll have fitment issues since it the PS tube is curved at the filter end.

From what I understand it is supposed to be installed with a SABM or second fender hole but I don't see how that would fix the situation much the box has about an inch gap from the fender wall. Even if you mod the box it wont be completely airtight. Not a fan of the design, seems more like something done for prototyping not final product. I would wait for the AFE or go with a Stillen + Mods.

With the PS I was seeing temps 50+ over ambient and would sit there at those temps. With the modded Stillen I usually hover around +28 to +32 over ambient. If I goon around temps rise higher but gradually fall back to the low 30s. Idle and "stop and go" traffic is the only time I'll see higher temps.

My thought was to cut the Stillen intake tube close to the filter end, then use the rubber coupler to connect to MAF tube. IDK if it'll work....will have to wait till the maf tube arrives. If all else fails I'll just wait till I'll just buy Sniv's or Rey's maggy box

Not sure it would work. The Stillen tube necks down to stock intake size rapidly. The MAF section if close to stock diameter and you also have very little room to cut since the vacuum fitting is molded into the plastic. I'll try and post a pic later.

Not sure that would work since it is tapered. A silicone couple will have a hard time staying connected. I think (not 100% sure) the engine twists towards the driver-side when you accelerate quickly so they will want to separate if not clamped properly; they are pulling away from each other.

I suspect that is why PS designed the box with so much slop the way they did, it allows some relief for this flexing. If they do separate during acceleration you run the risk of running lean since you are essentially removing the filter and possibly the MAF from the system.

I also don't think there is a lot of room. For reference the PS intake is about 8" before the curved part where the filter mounts. So from TB+ coupler to Airbox is ~8 inches. In contrast the Stillen is meant for a stock system so it spans 15 inches or so. I learned the hardway trying to get the right fitment and parts and building the proper relief into the system.

My ViktorG tune was $300. That's about the price im expecting to charge the guy in salt lake city for a remote tune.

Though to be fair I (or Viktor for that matter) are not tuning houses that just dyno stuff all day long. Though I'd like to think our tunes are 90% of a fancy place.

I was worried about this. None of the PS pictures show the bottom of the intake so I bought it on the assumption it was a fully contained box and as you pointed out, it's really more like a rain shield than anything. For $700 it's a complete rip off. I was thinking of welding their parts together and then adding a floor to it. I'm also concerned since it's all metal it'll get really hot vs the plastic Magnuson intake, so was thinking of ways to try and insulate the box.

As usual PS fails to impress and seems to only cater to building engines and for the DIY guys you can suck on $700 undeveloped parts.

I'll post some pic of the build quality but I think it is a rip off. The tube is well built the box not so much.

You can build a better airbox for a third of the cost if even that much. If folks want a larger intake tube the MRP air tube with the MAF is of excellent build quality and you can get a no-weld vacuum fitting from Vibrant performance (the middle sized one worked on the Harrop). The only issue I see is there is a slight angle from the TB to the airbox; depending on where it is placed and how the tube interfaces with the box.

In my data logging its at 4.97V, so one argument is do it since I'll inevitably trigger it one day. Other argument is get part of the $700 back and keep the superior albeit smaller Magnuson intake and if it trips the code it's once in a blue moon so who gives a shit.

Which spelling it out the choice is rather obvious :D

I'm guessing the answer is no, but since I've seen it on other forums, is there an alternate maf that goes beyond 5v?

I was turned off of the PS intake due to the price from the very beginning. I lost all interest when @Saltyhero13 gave it a bit of a review and reported the fender gaps and higher IATs. I felt bad that it costs all that money just to hack it up to try and make it better anyway. Other than the oversized tube it didn’t seem to have much going for it, and being able to buy a 4.5” tube from that Other vendor and piece it together with some couplers makes it hard to justify. A box totally sealed from the engine bay heat is the only way to go. @snivilous Chances are the code won’t even trip with the magnuson. It has to be pulling over 5v for longer than 3 consecutive seconds, and I don’t even do that with my 3.5” intake. The tuning may not be as dialed in at high RPMs, but clearly mine is running just fine.

I should note I don’t fault anyone for using the PS intake. Despite the price and higher IATs it’s probably the cleanest looking solution to a 4.5” intake to fix any tuning related issues to the MAF voltage ceiling.

I did not know that! I'd say definitely no reason to use it then.
