I've ordered the components for my next mod - the Audio system. The one thing I am missing is an adapter plug for the 12-pin connector feeding the non-JBL amp.

This picture indicates J145 in the center of the image and J144 to the right. I believe the Metra 70-1761 will mate with the 10-pin J144 but I can't find a mate for the 12-pin J145.

MrTuRDPro showed a method of using two 1761 connectors and cutting one of them, but I'd really like to find the mating connector. ********* sells a harness with this connector for $30 but that is an outrageous price considering I'm getting the 1761 for "free" from Crutchfield.

Who's got the magic part number!?!?!

    More Info...

I think I found the Toyota part numbers for Female J144 (10-pin) and J145 (12-Pin) harness connectors. They are 90980-10801 and -10803 respectively. I may have identified the Toyota Male connector for the -10803 but I will wait for confirmation before I post that number.

I've got one on order from a local dealership... should be in later this week. This is turning into a quest!

Hey Tex, Can you tell me where you got / the part number for the 12 pin "Y" cable? I need the same thing so I can bypass my amp without cutting the harness.

    Thanks

@Rob123. There are a couple ways to get these connectors now. As indicated above, I got the 10-pin connector from a Metra 70-1761 lit - free from crutchfield - and then found the 12-pin y-adapter from a company called Apps2Car on Amazon. Its part number is Y-TYT02.

Check out my Audio Build thread here for more info on pin connections and wiring in a new amp.

    Enjoy your project!

Yes, meant to post that source as well. If you don't get a freebie 10-pin (i.e. Crutchfield) then the two connectors from autoharnesshouse is a good deal.

No worries, just figured as many sources as we can get for items is a good thing.

Need a sticky in this section for info like this instead of having to thumb through posts or google.

I'm doing this same mod on my 2016 Tundra.
Is that harness and exact match for the 10 and 12 pin factory amp harness/plugs?

Can anyone tell me what gauge wire is used with the 4438 harness ?

    Thanks

    Nevermind I got it.
The Yellow, Black, and Red wires are 18 AWG. All the other wires are 20 AWG.

These are not an exact match. An exact match means the wires are the same and they plug and play. These you have to determine or dare I say guess on what you want to do. Frankly all this knowledge here and we still have to ask the most basic questions.

I'll Do As I suspected all along and test each speaker wire until it works in the appropriate location. Beyond annoying. Yea Ill get blasted by so what this entire thread has been little to no help.
