They upped the GVWR to compensate for the heavy hybrid battery so you don't only have 1100 or 1200 lb of available payload.

So your stickers say GVWR of 7615 lb and "occupants and cargo should not exceed" 1610 lb?

I'd be really interested to see what your truck weighs on a CAT scale bone stock with a full tank of fuel and no one in it. Wonder if it's a couple hundred pounds less than what the door jamb numbers say it is like several others' trucks have shown to be at the scales.

I am too. I may have to find a time to weigh it.

And no, the listed "occupants and cargo should not exceed" weight on the sticker is only 1355 lbs. But the calculated payload based on the GVWR and assumed weight of the truck should be ~1600 pounds.

If your GVWR is 7615 lb, and your "should not exceed" number is 1355 lb, then Toyota is saying that your truck's curb weight 6260 lb. It would be nice to find out that it's actually under 6k lbs. Would love to hear your result. Tank's gotta be full for an accurate number.

My 2nd gen's curb weight is 5930 lb according to the stickers. I never got a chance to weigh it bone stock.

I thought about that but my camper is pretty tiny... 5000 lb GVWR. It's loaded up pretty close to that. Plus, I carry a big kayak, and lots of other stuff in the tow vehicle. Still, I can work with around 1600 lb payload with no problem. HD truck might be overkill for my little rig. Thanks!

A 5,000 lb trailer is far from "tiny". Your loaded tongue weight is likely somewhere around 600-750 lbs.

This is our lightly loaded trailer, scales at 4,660 lbs loaded (GVWR = 5,692 lbs). Before I switch to Li batteries the tongue weight scaled at 750 lbs.

All these people throwing around "10%" tongue weight for a travel trailer like it's a fact have no idea what they're talking about.....I've yet to have one under 12.5%.

My tongue weight is 520 lb as currently loaded. But, it could certainly get up to 600 depending upon load distribution. Would like to stick with a 1/2 ton truck as it will also be my daily driver and the HD trucks fuel consumption is pretty bad when not towing. Thanks!

Anyone have this sticker inside their driver door? Not sure what modification would reduce the payload by 6lbs??

My payload stickers including the yellow modification sticker comes out to 1435 lb. Cat scale curb weight is 5660 lb with full tank of fuel. GVWR is 7310 lb so real payload is 1650 lb. I'm a happy camper! Truck is a double cab limited with TRD off-road package, Mats, limited power package.

2023 Limited CrewMax 6.5’ bed with JBL, Pano roof, limited power package, TRD OR, TRD skid Plate, floor mats…all the heavy things.

Took it to the scale on a test drive (2 miles on the odometer) so I knew the answer before driving away.

    Payload Sticker 1390 lb
    Yellow sticker 13 lb
No one in it with a full tank 5840 lb
    GVWR 7365 lb
GVWR minus scale weight = 1525

Very happy to have an extra 135, as I may have declined the pano roof or JBL or maybe even lower option had I been able to spec the exact build.

1525 is decent for that truck, you certainly can't complain and I don't think you could get much better in an F150 Lariat or similar trim GM. My 2014 F150 Lariat Supercrew 6.5' bed with virtually every option except the offroad package came in at 1560 on the cat scale and 1539 on the door sticker. The newer Lariats that I have looked at were pretty much identical to mine.

But then you wonder, if you didnt have the pano or JBL, would the GVWR be the same? It seems like Toyota might offer multiple GVWR's for the same configuration instead of just setting them all to the highest one and maximizing the payload of the lighter weight trucks.

Just weighed my truck on the local CAT scale. 2023 loaded SR5 crewmax 5.5 bed. GVWR on sticker shows 7,210 lbs. Payload on sticker says 1,395 lbs then yellow sticker says minus 48 lbs for add ons. Additions from completely stock are OEM all weather mats & OEM bed mat. Added a Bakflip MX4 as well. CAT scale weight total was 5,660 lbs so my correct payload is 1,550! Not bad at all considering it would probably be 1,650 without the MX4 cover, bed mat and floor mats!

weighed with a full tank of gas
this gives a payload of 1460lb
but then do need to subtract the yellow sticker ??

however the sticker on door shows only 1305

This is the key. You’re looking for actual payload which is the difference between gross and curb weight. It is defined on the door jamb as weight of occupants and cargo (this does not include fuel). If you want the actual number, you need to weigh your truck with a full tank. I’m wondering how many people are making sure their tank is topped off before driving onto the CAT scale.
That’s odd; the yellow sticker doesn’t show a number to reduce the payload by. What is your gross weight on the other door jamb sticker?

Nice! Man I wish my truck had that same gross weight. I’d have 1700lb of payload.

honestly, I agree with the above posters i wish Toyota offered ,in the higher trims, payload in the range of 1500 - 1580 , why in the heck didn’t they allow us to opt out of pano roof is beyond me , i will probably never ever open the thing unless maybe for the 4th of July an that is doubtful

Looking through this thread got me curious. My door label is listed at 7165 lbs gvwr. 22 crewmax limited 2WD, weighed with a full tank, black armor bedmat and bakflip mx4, drawbar, and miscellaneous gear under the rear seat and in the console. My door sticker says max payload is 1445. Based off the name plate and my weight today, I have a calculated payload capacity of 1365 lbs. If, however, I use the individual axle ratings at 100% of their rating, my available payload goes up to 2140 lbs. By the time I load up the travel trailer(750lbs tongue weight), The wife, kids and dog(650lbs), and all the crap that rides in the bed of the truck, I will be 150-250 lbs over the 1365 number easy. My 2000 tundra had payload of around 1900 lbs back then and I know it could handle much more than that. Surely theses newer, bigger trucks can handle a couple hundred over what the door label states.

For the limited, per Canadian Owner's manual, removing Pano and JBL should not effect GVWR. But deleting those wasn't really something I wanted to wait for. Besides, do you think GVWR is actually based on a different frame, brakes, drivetrain?

You do! ;) Despite my truck saying 7365, I may just treat it as the 7780 which is max for the hybrid of the same size.

You have to take the least capability as they are all MAX ratings - you can't add axle capability to develop a new max rating. If you look above, I think GVWR is scaled by truck model, which means they really care how and where you put in the weight - if you put olympic plates over each axle, you could handle way over GVWR, but if you put in a giant slide-in camper, you're going to throw off vehicle dynamics.
