Chris Fix is a lot less annoying than Scottie K.

I've caught ScottieK espousing his opinion as fact one too many times to tolerate his BS. I don't like ChrisFix, but at least I don't find myself calling bullshit on things he says the way I do with ScottieK.

ChrisFix puts out solid content, which I refer people to often, he mostly annoys me because he talks exactly like someone I know IRL and can't f'ing stand (nobody y'all would know), they happen to be from one of my least favorite areas of Jersey, which is one of my least favorite states in the Union b/c of some real low-quality folks I've met from there. No offense to the NJ crowd or anything, believe me, I know GA isn't perfect and we've got some real douchenozzles here, I may be one of 'em. :D

I agree that ChrisFix can be annoying, but I also agree that he has solid content. My solution sometimes is to turn down the sound...

I run the Peak OET pink. Think its $18 a bottle 50/50 mix. You can get concentrate according to the internet but I've never seen it on the shelf. Think a lot of others run some blend of Zerex Asian coolant too though. As others have stated if you don't have pink right now you gotta make sure and flush out every drop.

I will go through the chrisfixit flush when the new radiator arrives (next Wednesday) and hobble along until then.

Whoa, radiator already arrived today, but the thremostat wont be here until next week. Any issue with replacing the radiator tomorrow and the thermostat when it arrives? Does it just mean that I will lose some coolant when I go to do the thermostat? Or maybe I should just source the thermostat locally and send back the rock auto one?

BTW, this forum once again is a life/$ saver. Thank you guys for all the help.

I'd do them both at the same time. If you can source the part locally, from a dealership, go for it.

I agree with this. Even at a stealership, the thermostat shouldn't be too expensive and it will save you work doing both at the same time.

It doesn't hurt to pull your thermostat when doing the flushes/drain and fills. Can speed up the process if the thermostat isn't too hard to get to

I went ahead and got the thermostat/gasket locally but the store didnt have the upper radiator hose. I am hoping to find that elsewhere today and start the process later this morning.

I'm finally getting around to changing the "all vehicle" green antifreeze for the correct one. Looking at Toyota Parts they sell 5 different types of coolants both red and pink. Which is best for 2000 Tundra.

I am astounded that the radiator made it to you with zero damage. I bought one from toyotapartsdeal.com and it was an absolute mangled mess by the time it arrived.

    Man was I pissed.

    Drained
Fill with water, run 15 min
    Drain
Fill with cleaner and water run
    Drain
    Fill with water run

    Fill with water run.

Lots of sludge came out but last drain is clear-er.

Gotcha a label maker, or a piece of scotch tape? I'd put a date, and mileage on it so you know when you changed all that. That's just me though

Not a big deal. But if you end up flushing again I would use the drain plugs.

Meh. Drain plugs are overrated. They're great if you want to fully drain an engine before pulling, but for stuff like this, where you're going to be flushing repeatedly, I feel like it's maybe overkill. Granted, if you did use them, you could probably shave off a flush or two, just because you'd have less contaminated water in the block after each flush.

Sludge out is GOOD! That's a lot of sludge on the left.

Hell, I'd have kept going. I'm shocked at how little change there is between each gallon :D

scAmazon has a 6pk of Prestone flush, product num is AS 105. That's usually what I get for a full flush, and, as much as some people would disagree with me on this, I run the flush with a straight-up hose water. I've seen guys hook up a waterhose straight up to the t-stat housing neck, and leave things open on the other side to flush out (after draining completely and capturing the existing coolant so you don't kill anyone's cat or dog).

I'd have used the drain plugs, but that's just me.

Here's what I got out of the passengers side engine drain using a NPT 1/8" nipple with a hose going into my water jugs.

Damn bro, I forgot all about how much you yoinked out of your engine. But you guys are literally neck and neck. I'd be distraught if I ended up pulling as much brown funk out of my block as you guys both did. Yikes!
