I've pulled my trailers with each plug. I don't think it knows the 4pin is plugged in but I'm not 100%. I only really payed attention with the enclosed since it has brakes and I wanted to make sure they were working.

 

Is that Oem?

Sorry for the technically challenged question, but if I just plug into the 4 pin with the connector that comes with the lights will all the sequential signal turn signals, back up lights, brakes lights etc. on the light bar work properly or will I still have to splice into the rear brake light? I appreciate your patience with me.

I really don't know but I would imagine it will work how it's supposed to if you just plug into the factory 4pin. The pigtail they send with it is for a vehicle that doesn't already have it. I do not have this light, I was just commenting that I think only the round plug realizes a trailer is plugged in.

 

Does anyone know if the LED bed lights that come with the audio package are available separately, like the kit for the Tacoma?

 

They don't come with the audio package, they come with the power package that includes the Qi phone charger and the 120v 400W inverter and plugs.

Can you get the light seperate, yes, but not as a kit. The wire harness you may be able to get as well but no one seems to know those details on PN or where it goes, yet.

For those of you with the oem tonneau cover, is it true, it covers up the rear camera view from the top of the cab? I thought I read that somewhere in here, but now can't find it, so I thought I'd ask.

 

OEM Tonneau Cover and Rear Camera view works just fine

 

Nope…does not cover up the rear camera view (or light).

 

I have no issues with the camera and the MX4. The only thing I don't like about the camera in the tailgate is whey you have it open, obviously, all you see is the pavement straight down.

 

God a good deal on some UpTop stuff.

I'm trying to find something that functions as a step up/running board but does not reduce ground clearance much or at all. Seems that this one has "only" the tube in the center of the truck where it's more important to keep clearance good. (farther from tires is more important, correct?). Wonder if the tube on these is strong enough to take a hit from a rock? That sounds like wishful thinking for something <$400, but worth a question.

Well…they will take a hit from a rock all right but if you are referring to off-roading and sliding over a boulder or something (to protect the body/undercarriage) then these are not it.

These like every other step or running board that aren’t some version of steel and aren’t bolted to the frame will rip right off when it encounters the right resistance (a boulder or something catches the front of the tube or leading edge of the steps).

They work well for everyday and light/medium off-road in where you are minding your clearances but if you plan to do hardcore stuff then you need ‘sliders’

 

Good to know bigjuice. Thanks. I'm not thinking of real rock sliding. Just want something that does not get seriously damaged if I happen to go over a rock that's a bit too high. I thought that these were steel tubes, have to check that again. Thanks for the info.

 

Added black carbon fiber letters to tailgate and front grill. Thinking about blacking out the inner section of the front grill with black carbon fiber vinyl.

 

Still showing out of stock on Amazon. I've been trying to find OEM but two different dealers parts departments cannot find a part number.

 

Does anyone know if the premium headlights and tail lights are plug n play to an sr5?

 

Damn it. I was looking at a lunar sR5 but would want the head lights on the TRD pro

Yeah that is part of the new initiative they started to create more options for customers. It was announced when they rolled out the Trail hunter edition...

Had a chat with Vin; owner of SCS wheels; in about a week or so, they're launching new wheel specific to 3rd gen Tundra.

I've had their wheels on my prior rides, and put them through hell with barely even a scratch. Great quality, great people running the show, and wheels are affordable. worth a watch, y'all
