Never used that before but in the future, if I want to remove, how easy would it be?

So I did it. Am I 100% happy with results? No but it was my fault.
Used a bit of both hot glue gun and jb weld. Hot glue on top so it would stay and I jb weld the bottom and side as much as I can. Messy job and got some of the black on the front lights but can’t tell from a distance lol

I didn’t use their harness, cut it up and just wired to my switch

For those of you that got the light bar too from Alibaba, how do you like it? Any issues? I'm going back and forth between the OEM look and the Baja Designs option.

Light output is ok...nothing fancy. Mounting is a pain because nothing lines up. Looks completely stock and is light enough to not need any additional support like the Baja Designs lights

Got my grill from the local dealer, now looking for the lights, specifically the light bar. Baja design is out of stock. Any suggestions besides the cheap low output stuff?

I thought some members were complaining about the low output from the oem/ebay light bars.

I thought the Baja had the bracket to hide the mounting screws?

You can clearly see the mounting screws.

It looks great either way, just thought the bracket would hide it more.

There are screws that mount the bracket to the grille from inside. Those bolts are hardly noticeable in person. I mean all you see are screw’s from the light bar !

I'd ask @Baja Designs if you need that bracket...sounds like it's free. Westcott warned me about this issue and I passed along the info to BD...maybe this was the result of that

The support bracket is in development and will be supplied to each customer who has already received this kit thus far included in the original cost. We created this support bracket in response to competitors' kits creating issues with the stock grills on this truck. For all new orders, this support bracket will be included.

just as an FYI. Westcott told me that during testing, the grille would crack at the mounting points from the weight/vibration of the light bar. Because of this, they have not released a kit until they addressed the issue. From what I've seen, theyre close to releasing it with the support bracket.

This conversation with Jeff started when I posted how I mounted my knockoff light bar and he suggested the support bracket and mentioned their R&D. The chinese knockoff is super light, so I havent bothered with a support, but I did thank him for sharing his findings. I then passed along the info to BD. I wouldnt run the light bar without the support bracket...youre risking ruining the grille.

Hey @Yoda_Lance, from what I have been told the grills with the camera are stiffer than the grills without. This should limit any chances of issues but has not been proven yet. This being said did you purchase the light bar kit directly from us? If not please get in contact with me so the support bracket will be issued to you when it is released.

I wonder how the new DD light bar will be then as I don't think that one has a support bracket...

itll likely suffer from the same issues that westcott found IF the bar is heavy enough. Not sure how the DD compares to the BD, but it does look smaller and likely lighter. Jeff did mention that weight was a/the factor in the grilles cracking.

I'll keep my chinesium bar for now until this all gets sorted out.

I’ve talked to 2 local owners with the BD and they said it’s holding up very strong and sees no issues so far. They both have done a lot of harsh off roading and it’s holding up. I’m not seeing any issues yet but will report if there are any
