2021 Driver Side Rear Door auto un-Lock Question

I own a 2021 Limited and love the truck. One thing that does annoy me however is the auto-unlock feature when I go to open my locked doors. This seems to work for all the doors EXCEPT the rear driver side. In order to unlock that I need to open the driver door and unlock from inside or press the button on the key fob. Why just that door? That is door I need to unlock the most if i have an armful of stuff to put in the back seat area...... aggravating.... Is this a problem or just how they are?

 

I don't know if this is the problem, but make sure your child lock is not engaged on that door.
I have a 2014 double cab, yours might look a little different.

 

Might just be yours. I haven't had the issue in my '20. I would check the child lock as mentioned first.

 

I looked at that and it is off.
The problem more specifically is when I walk up to the locked truck and pull the driver side door handle, only the driver door unlocks. If I do the same on the passenger side, they ALL unlock. Seems odd that it would be different. I will look through the owner's manual to see if this is not some sort of security setting.

 

Not sure about your model year but on mine there was a setting for door locks that was accessible through the head unit. I had to change it so all doors unlocked with one push of the button on the FOB.

This is not an issue with the key fob. It is how the doors unlock when the fob is not used via the door handles. Found in the owners manual that this is how it is supposed to work..... driver side door handle only unlocks driver door and the passenger side door handle unlocks all doors....... annoying... does not look like it can be changed.

 

That definitely can be changed. I changed the setting on mine when I got it and all 4 doors now unlock when I grab driver's door handle. Forgot how I did it at the moment, but I believe it's buried in the menus on the head unit.

I'm sure there is, but you should be able to find it just fumbling through the menus. Under 'vehicle settings' or something similar...

Just use the key fob when you need to open/unlock that door..

I just looked thru your manual and I believe you are correct, that setting for a smart key can't be changed..

I found it under settings as mentioned above. Works now!

 

Was there a setting like either unlock driver's door or all 4 doors?
The manual looked like that didn't apply to the smart lock, only the remote or actual door look.
