After I cut it all out, I put a bunch of this down before reinstalling the toilet. Soon after, most of a grape vine that was here when I bought the house 22 years ago died. So, I think I found where the roots came from.

I would continue to dose with that stuff then. I think my moms house might have ruts too. Her kitchen sink is slow, I’ve snaked it before

Roots suck. We should like start a foundation or charity to kill all roots. Maybe I'll start a committee to look into getting this going.
Any thoughts on who should be on the committee?

Sewer lines. But before we appoint you I need to know if you have the proper qualifications.

2 questions- Do you have sewer lines/drains and do you hate roots being in them?

Hmm, I'm a little hesitant considering your answer to part 2, but you come highly recommended so I will forward your application to the sub-committee the for committee that considers additions to committees,

Is the frame steel as well? My only door that doesn't give me hell during weather transitions is my front door that's steel with a steel frame.

no, wood frame. I need to do the rear door, too. Might as well build new frames. Not worth having HD frames, cause i have a glass wall, but i'm thinking real hard about I-beaming the back wall for 2 15ft sections of acordian windows with a leg in the centerish.

back wall could be pushed 12', front could be pushed 6'. That would make the gutters easier. Been wanting gutters since '20.

Mine are plastic. The roots grow up where the pipe come through the slab, then through the wax ring on the toilet and down the pipe. I guess plumbers call it a horse tail, fairly common.

I've had luck with just tightening the screws on some of hinges but I'm thinking you already thought of that one.

You might try some door hinge shims first
    E-Z Shim EZ HS400BP 4" Hinge Shim (15 Pack), 4", 15 Count https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0044V0L8C

Use them either between the door and the hinge or the hinge and the frame depending on what it looks like you need to correct

Ok. You guys also have slab on grade construction down there.
I’m sitting on top of a basement. There’s one bathroom that could potentially do that, but it would have a long ways to grow first

I don't think you could find a single story slab on grade house in our neck of the woods if you tried. :D

There’s one just down the road from us about a mile. And a whole neighborhood in La Center they just built that way. Fuckiest thing I’ve ever seen around here. I get it in AZ, but up in WA, not a good idea

Maybe not the smartest thing for here either. It's tons of fun when a copper water line burst under the slab in the kitchen.
