The temperature control knob on my 2000 tundra is stuck. After reading a few threads on the forum, I removed the radio Dash cover. As suggested by the previous threads that I read, there are two cables attached to the temperature control. One of them is for the valve on the firewall the controls hot water to the heater that cable is free and operates fine, but it’s the other one which I believe goes to the AC control that is stuck. I cannot find where that cable goes to. Can anyone tell me where to find the other end and what I might have to do to free up the cable? It also appears that when I tried to turn that temperature knob before I took radio dash cover, I have broken the plastic to which the AC cable attaches. Not sure what to do about that.

The problem is with the centre knob, temperature control knob that has two cables attached to it. It’s not the cable that controls the heater valve but the other cable that I understand from someone else’s post on another thread that is connected to the AC control? Where does that end up and how do I fix it?

Did you check that thread? 1st video in reply #18 covers the center.

    Check the whole thread.

Thank you for that. The very end of the second video he talks just briefly about the temperature control knob, which is where I’m having my trouble. The cable on mine that is stuck is the one that he shows that controls the damper that moves it between air conditioning and heating. He doesn’t show where he accesses that control; is it from under the dash on the passenger side or the driver side?

Passenger side, if I recall. Pretty sure one of many fly-by-night users came by with issues a while back looking for help and posted more info about it. Let me dig it up.

As @shifty` mentioned it's on the passenger side.
The below is from passenger side of my 2004 looking straight in from opened pass door(red arrow pointing to cable). You can then position yourself further in that area and rotate center knob as you observe the action of that cable.

I'm not finding the specifice one I'm thinking of, but here's something else to watch.

Check video in reply # 13 which contains full diagnostics IIRC and towards the end covers the passenger side, also see one the videos in #15, though one of those two videos in reply 15 is the same as you've seen. The other two may produce joy for you.

Thanks for that; I’ll see what I find under the dash passenger side. It sure what to do about the broken plastic horizontal rotating control arm. Hoping I can McGyver it.

So, I've been under the passenger side of the dash and found that the damper door is very difficult to slide open and closed. Any ideas where to look for a video on how to take that apart and get it moving freely?

I have no clue my man. Any chance you could find a truck in a junkyard to fuck around with so you don't break anything when you do your truck?
