This is what that made me think of. Sorry to "ruin" a family moment...

We've got the same brand insert. A lot nicer than when it was an open fireplace.

I had something like that before. Gas heater with flickering light bulb and tin foil on a drum to make the crackling sound of fire.

It was my first apartment and I thought it was cool….for about a week.

I was worried we weren't going to get the wood lit for a while but it seems like it may be going. Hard to tell.

I'm pretty good at getting it going with newspaper, just adds more ash to clean out. Once there's a good bed of coals we turn the blower on and open the vent, then turn on the house fan. Need a new door...

You de-chromed yours. Ours is flaky white painted.

Still not sure we know which way is open vs closed on the flue, hah!

Ordered that way to match the black tile. Pulled out should be closed, at least ours is.

There’s something missing there. One crucible of aluminum cans does not a make a rotor. Probably more like 20 of them or more.

Gotcha. Does it have an electric blower fan? I don't see a plug coming out the front of it.

    Lookin' good!

Yep! You'll figure out the sweet spot on when you actually want to turn it on. Our weather station has recorded indoor temperatures of 88 degrees with it on, it's no joke.

We aren’t going to get to 88 I don’t think but it’s nice sitting here 2’ from the stove. I’m wondering if maybe another puffy floor chair would work.

I call this room the “church”. Maybe a pew.

My mom has a wood burning stove that she keeps the main house warm with, it has a forced air blower/ heat exchanger. We’ve definitely got it up around 88-90 in the hallway, had to open doors and windows!

I worked with a guy who’d cut 3 cords of wood a year for his 2 wood burning stoves to heat the house to 60-65.

His wife wanted 70-75 so he had to pay additionally for oil but it was minimal.

Has anyone replaced TPM sensors? I think I need to replace them on the RAV4. Or can I replace just the batteries? They are almost 11 years old and starting to get flashing TPMS light, then solid light, then the light goes off for a while. OEM recommended?
