They don't have any play but a few of the bolts were a little loose so I snugged them up. They were from A1 Auto and I'm starting to think they are the cause @Festerw had the same suggestion.

I also never replaced the sway bar bushings where they mount to the frame. I should probably just order new OEM parts.

Damn wheels didn’t show up Today. But apparently I’ll be the one doing all these lifts for now on. One more next week. They’re going on my recommendation for the tries. 275/65r20[IMG]

That truck actually doesn't look that bad. I still see these as super sized tacomas though.

I'd love to see some shots of a new tacoma next to one of these for a size comparison

I just recently learned where the term “tits up” originated. Guess I wasn’t interested in knowing in the past.

    Pretty morbid though.

Honestly I haven’t looked at the Msrp on it. It’s a base model with very few options. But I’m sure the lift with wheels and tires will be a 15k markup. Lift was 4100, wheels 2000, tires 1500. 1300 labor

There’s a reverse twist on that though.

Those control arm bushings are pretty toast. Probably the source of the noise.

Honestly those bushings are worn. But doubt that’s the noise.

It'd grow on me if the gd hood wasn't horizontal to the ground. If they would've just added a little more slope so the front end wasn't a big rectangle with rounded edges, I think it would've done it great justice.

But everyone wants to design trucks with a big, tall, flat face. Like a school bus.

After tightening the bolts for the sway bar links the noise seems to have stopped. It has 141k miles. My plan was to rebuild the rest of the suspension at 200k miles but that might be pushing it.

I look at too many cars. I was thinking of CRV's that have those style bushings blow out all the time.

Cool, glad it was an easy fix.
    Unlike your brakes.

But expect to replace those relatively soon'ish. I'd shoot for 150k.

Mine started popping after about 3000 miles on them (moog). After getting back home from our cross country trip I got the extended links from @5N0W808 and replaced them. Was getting a harsh pop noise and one link was bent pretty good.
My truck is level in the front but that's it.

I'm guessing it makes more sense to replace the entire control arm instead of just the bushings? Similar to our trucks.

If it's cost effective, go nuts.

Then recycle the old arms after, if they're heavy enough you should have enough for a cold Coors Lite 20oz single at the corner store on your way home as you test drive.

I really hate dealing with bushings if pressing is involved, so if the new part comes with them and isn't 4x-5x the price, I'm buying the pre-assembled part.

Granted, I'm a bit lazier these days, have kids which are a huge time-suck, and I have more money than time...

That's expensive, like an extra 50¢! Glad you can afford it, pfft.

Coors has a new 20oz tall boy style "Skinny Tumbler" they sell. Don't ask why I know, it's definitely NOT my normal swill. Give me something from Toppling Goliath, Bearded Iris, or even a Lagunitas before you hand me Coors. But if you do hand me a Coors, best believe it's gonna get drank! A man's gotta have his water!

Ahh I haven’t seen those yet, not on my radar; tall boys fall in the same school of thought of why I don’t drink 24-32oz glasses/mugs of beer. Most* people can’t drink that much beer fast enough and still be cold. I’d rather have multiple cold beers VS a large warm beer.

I dunno, my dad recently got this lightweight metal koozie that holds your beer cold for like 2 hours. It's freaking nuts. Last time we went fishing together, he showed me. Granted, this man can knock out a can of Busch Light in 45 minutes, but sometimes action on the water will slow him down long enough, and his beer was still near-fridge-cold after 90 minutes. I can ask him what the brand is if you wanna start drinking tallboys. :D
