    I just got my 2012 Toyota tundra and decided I want to keep it that i am willing spend money on it. I wanted to run bigger tires for the winter here in Alaska. I heard alot of bad things about lifts and was leaning towards a levelling kit. Would leveling the tundra make it less comfortable to ride? Would my lvling kit make my truck parts worn out faster? And what is the maximum lift i can do and biggest tire i can put if I do so? Thank you so much guys!!

    @meeerafael
    Welcome from AZ! Let's see some pictures!
    the question you asked is a good one without a simple answer.
    Some folks are anxious to get someplace and others are more interested in looking good getting there.
    Which are you?
    Simply put, the engineering done on these trucks will dictate that running stock suspension and tires will be best for the truck. This may not be the best way to serve YOUR purposes. Some lift would help your approach and departure angles and bigger wheel/tire diameter will give you better clearance. The more changes you make in the suspension and wheel/tires, the more the original design engineering is altered and stresses are increased, and yes, you may have premature failures. It could be incremental and it could be worth it if you're running a trap line in the bush.
    What exactly are you doing with your truck? If it's just adding mud/snow tires for bad weather that's one thing. For several of my rigs, I had two full sets of tires mounted and balanced. I'd run studded mud n snows all winter and put the others back on in the spring.

    My main thing that I want is for looks and then better handling in the snow because it snows alot here in Alaska. The guy in the shop told me to do a roughcountry leveling kits for 3in and put a 305 70 r18. But I am a little worried about trimming. I know I should trust him because he knows what he is doing but I just want to double check prior to doing so. He also quoted me $750 to do the leveling for 4 hours. I didnt want to go so high because they i researched that doing a lift kit rather than a leveling kit would damage my vehicle (worn certain things out faster). I guess is it worth it to do level kit for those two reasons? Would it worn my parts faster if I do just a simple leveling kit like a lift kit would do so?

    I really appreciate you time. Thank you for answering my questions.

    I personally went with a Revtek 2.5 inch spacer up front....a little trim job on skidplate, took front little guards off that sit in front of tires, and threw a set of 295/70/18"s on my stock rims.....sits level and higher...did not put ANYTHING in the rear !!..No blocks in rear because i HATE RAKE ON A TRUCK !!!...My truck sits perfectly LEVEL....As far as ride comfort, its fine...but if you want SOFT ride you have to spend a little coin and go with Coilovers or adjustable shocks ...Cost me less than $100 for the Revtek kit and a little sweat as i am in the Autobody trade and did everything myself.

    Revtek leveling kit is the ONLY spacer kit that Toyota approves. Thats what both Toyota dealerships told me here in Portland Oregon..Factory Warranty is honored with this kit installed.
