    Sounds stock still. I cut mine at the exact same spot.

    Yeah it’s almost quieter (but lower sound) than stock.

    Great build sir!

    You obviously know how to build out rigs and have a lot of experience modifying Toyotas.

    IF I may give one suggestion, you can push your front fender liner forward and reattach. It will give you about 1" to 1/2" more clearance and still super
    clean. (if you even need too)

    Cheers.

    Guess I should have read a little further… After seeing the “pile of carnage” photo with the struts, shocks, leads, and UCA’s, it clearly was lifted. Which lift kit did you use? I didn’t see it specified in the original post.

    Thank you sir..

    I actually did add the extra leafs a couple weeks ago. After going on a hunting trip where I pulled 2 four wheelers on a 14’ trailer, the rear end sagged ever so slightly. So before going on a hurricane relief effort trip to South Florida where I had to pull a 16’ enclosed trailer full of equipment, I decided to throw those extra leafs in, and I’m glad I did. I had my whole crew’s luggage and gear under the shell and towing roughly 5k lbs with the trailer. It sat perfectly level and rode like a dream. I averaged about 11mpg usually going a little over the speed limit keeping pace with traffic.

    I’ll try to post some photos with no trailer, but here’s a shot with. Without the trailer it sits about 2” higher in the rear (measuring ground to fender). Before it was 1” higher, but was exactly level when measuring the bedrail flatness.

    Here’s where the extra leaf went…

    I am considering a similar setup. What would you estimate your standard cargo weight to be? Would you mind posting your front and rear wheel center to fender dimensions?

    Probably around 500lbs

    Front = 24”
    Rear = 25.75”

    ever consider cutting the tabs off? It does not look like the tire is against the frame firmly.

    Didn’t need to. Can’t tell in the photos but the sidewall is touching up top so it’s nice and snug.

    Just looking out. Those tabs are sharp and do not want to see them pierce a sidewall.

    I've added a charging controller into Leer's fuse box and a small lead-acid battery, mounted on a DIY steel cage, with an extra diode preventing battery discharge to the main line when the lights are off. The battery charges when the lights are on, the camper light is powered either from the main line, when it has something, or from the battery.

    The battery can be Li-Po as well, but lead-acid holds the heat and frost better, and does not burst in flames when overheated or damaged.

    Are the steel wheels difficult to balance? I hear conflicting things about them but it’s always from people that don’t even have them haha anyways they look badass

    Not at all. I’d say maybe even easier since you can clamp on traditional weights instead of the stick ons.
