Installed the KTJO door bowl lights. I know some haven't had good luck with her products and customer service, but I guess I've been lucky with the couple of things I got. Now to get some matching ambient lighting in the center console. It never ends...

I like them but wished they functioned like the Tacoma - I guess not the product fault but the truck fault. Tacoma ones only come on when parking light are activated and these are on all the time ~ unless you hit the window lock to turn off the passengers but driver is on all the time. Also the tacoma could use the center cluster mileage trip dial to dim or brighten, these won't. Again, not the product but the truck function issue

Yeah, that definitely would be nice. I wonder why Toyota has them functioning differently. Doesn't make sense. Better than nothing, I guess.

The truck is not the issue it is the product design being wired assuming it is the same as a Tacoma. I am sure it can be modified to work as intended

The Tacoma has illuminated window / lock switches, the Tundra did not. That's where it would power from on the Tacoma and work as advertised. The only remaining power is the window motor control which is why the aftermarket illuminated switches only work on / off with the window master window lock for the passengers and constant on for the driver.

There could be another power source but not sure where from?

Tap into the lights that are controlled by the dimmer switch.

Does your Tundra dimmer switch control you passenger door lights? I guess the driver side too?

Oof. I'm guessing that would require running wire through all of the wire looms in the doors to the dash somewhere. Takes all the "plug and play" out of it.

    lol, yeah.

I think there isn't a dimmer to control the doors that never had illumination to begin with. Even for the driver side as it was always on, no change for the dimmer switch (at least for mine which is why I asked) if it was different for different years but haven't seen anything different when people change the door / window controls. So it's being run off the window motor power like the passengers.

    Exactly

Unless the dimmer dims each door window control which I don't know that it does...if so, tap that power source. If not, then yeah you'd have to run a line from the dash switch to each side of the truck

Love it. Do you know if that center dash tray section is removable or can be easily cut out? I really want this but I have an ICS phone mount that I like even more.

Wouldn’t the curtesy/puddle light circuit work? I thought they all have the same harness just different options. Just what I thought…
