He didn't offer advice about mixing. I decided to do that to keep the mix thin and easier to spray. I plan on doing it 2 to 3 times a year. I've only done it once. I change the oil on 3 cars with synthetic oil so there is never a shortage.

I used to use bar and chain oil, that stuff is thicker than Ron Jeremy. Heat it up well and it will go on easy, as soon as you're done you need to take it down a dirt road and allow it to get covered in dust, this will help keep it intact.

Never even heard of such a thing. I have enough trouble keeping the body clean, never mind the frame!

I just treated the entire bottom of my 20 Tundra with the CRC Blue can from Amazon. I bought 6 cans and it was about 90 dollars. Spend the few buck to buy the larger nozzles and one of the handle add on attachments. It saves a mess. Using a straw made it work much better and controlled the spray way better. Without a straw there was a lot of wasted spray. I used 3 cans and got basically everything. I removed the spare tire but didn't remove the skid plate. So far is has held up well and i will be driving to michigan this week for a few weeks and looking forward to seeing how it holds up.

Crawled under truck to investigate. Treated some surface rust with a rust cleaner (must for rust) and then hit it with rust reformer.

Saw rust on a plate/axle/wheel mounting bracket? And wanted some insight from you all.

Any harm hitting it with rust cleaner?
Any harm hitting it with rust oleum rust reformer?
Any harm hitting it with CRC?

Do you all remove the engine skid plate and spray the bottom of the engine and the components as well, or is the engine a no-go similar to the brakes and exhaust?

I recommend trying to get at all the small fasteners on the pans aside the from body panels and frame/suspension components. Usual caveat to avoid pulleys and belts..

Depending on the product you use, some act as a dielectric grease and is safe for electrical connections as well.

Had the opportunity to spray the underside of the truck today with FluidFilm, worked really well with the WoolWax Pro gun (made by Kellsport). Overall very happy I did it, if I ever need to work on anything under there it might be a little messier than it was before, however I'm confident that the rust will be very minimal, if any.

I did quite a bit of research on everything, so if anyone else has any questions or needs some information, this thread has been super helpful and I'll continue to 'watch' it in case anyone has any questions or needs any assistance.

    Ran the spray gun at 80psi (seem to work very well at that pressure), used the wand extension to get into hard to reach areas, and the 360 degree tipped wand inside the following;

frame members using the small access holes
top of the frame & cross members
all 4 doors by removing the small black covers on the side of the doors
    bed panels after removing taillights
tailgate after removing the access panel
under the actual hood there were a few openings large enough for the wand
the little hidden leaf trap at the bottom of the front quarter panels

Ambient temp was approximately 68F, which was a little on the 'cooler' side given how 'thick' the gallon of fluid film was. What helped was that as I was prepping the driveway, compressor, spray gun, etc, I had the gallon sitting in a large pot filled with very hot water for about an hour, this helped heat the product, and then vigorously shaking it helped tremendously and I had no issues running it through the gun this way, took about half a gallon doing the entire trucks drivetrain and all the aforementioned areas.

Using corrosion free for rust protection seams to be working ok.

Just finished applying my 2nd coat, doing it while outside temps are a little warmer definitely made it a little easier with the FF being a little more viscous.

Yeah I'm sure that helps. I've seen people put buckets (if you're buying in bulk) on a hot plate, or put the cans in warm water. I do the same for spray paint sometimes too if it's a bit cooler out.

Glad to see you're keeping up with it. I'm about to go get my 4th Krown treatment and I'm looking forward to it.

What are some areas to avoid? Are we supposed to only do the frame? I just installed the cat shields also but would like to have rust prevention as I am in Minnesota and we have salt on our roads most of winter.

I try to avoid spraying directly onto braking components; discs, calipers, pads, etc.
Any hot surfaces like exhaust, engine, transmission, I don’t spray directly, but you’ll get some overspray on it, not a big deal, it’ll burn off or drip off once the FF gets viscous enough

Other than those areas I really don’t avoid anything else, I don’t spray the driveshaft, but I quite literally spray everything else that’s metal, frame, diff, axle, suspension components (springs, leafs, A-arms, etc), inside the doors, tailgate, frame, cross members, bottom of the bed, bottom of the cab, etc.

I like knowing it’s protected from any road salt/brine that might, or might not, hit the roads in my area, and it’s nice to look under a 3 year old truck (almost) and still looks new.

When I put my first treatment on a while back I had to put the gallon of FF in hot water since I waited a little too long into fall to get it done, so I decided to do it a little earlier and I’m glad I did.

I had the same problem last fall. This time around I bought a fry daddy to heat it up before I put it in the sprayer. So I’m going to try and hold off for another month or so before I apply.

Just had my undercarriage sprayed with NH oil, last year was fluid film. With the amount of salt they use on New Hampshire roads I get it sprayed almost yearly.

Yup, I've gone to the Line-X shop in York every year. There is a shop closer in NJ now, but I'll still probably go out to York. They've been great every time. I bought the truck used in October 2019 and went immediately there, first application being in November 2019. I've gone once a year, and if I maintain that they will warranty any rust that occurs below the A/B pillars up to $5k.

I know I could save money if I did it myself with fluid film or something else, but the fact that they get in every body panel (they actually drill holes near the kick panel to gain access to the rocker panels and lower sections of the body. Some people don't like this, but I've seen zero negative effect or rust from these holes), through the engine bay, and even spray inside the boxed section of the frame, I have absolutely no problem spending the $150 it costs per year. I use fluid film on lot of my other vehicles as needed, but I don't care about any of them as much as I do about my truck lol.

You obviously don't live where it gets snow 6 months a year.

It's that time again.....getting ready to do my 2nd year of DIY application of CorrosionFree. I'm going to give the underside a good wash with the pressure washer and a new long curved wand first. If I have time, I may wire brush a few areas and give them a quick POR-15 brushing.

I, like you, live in a spot where there's salt/brine on the roads 6 months a year. Been doing CorrosionFree since I bought my '21. For prep, I found an undercarriage washer / water broom (Ryobi - https://www.homedepot.ca/product/ryobi-water-broom-11-inch-pressure-washer/1001029363) attachment for my pressure washer that does a great job. There's a brass filter/fitting to reduce flow, which I removed and it easily pulls the grit/grime off the frame, body panels, etc.

I overapply in the wheel wells as I did notice the control arms and frame section around the wheels tends to get the most spray/abuse. I tend to try and get my application done late-July or early August while the temps are high enough to promote lots of creep into seams.

This is my daily (also parked outside) after two winters and three summers:

I just spray the underside down often and if any corrosion appears, I wire brush it and coat it with Extreme Chassis Black. I have a 2018 and get complements on how clean it is under there.

Have zero rust on 19 treated with Noxudol 1600 and 700 in cavities for 3 years now. Besides a few spots touched by ice/rocks/boulders when offroading. Going to apply the same combo on wife's 22 Sequoia.

I have a 2017… I did an initial thorough hit with FF and touch it up every fall. Heavy rust belt, but not a spot on my truck. Still looks like new underneath.
