Need a little guidance here. Truck was running like a champ. Came to start and it won’t start. Cranking, not starting. Disconnected battery and tried again after connecting and engine for a second tried to turn on only to stop right away.

not sure what might have happened in the 30mins I was parked… any thoughts?

    thanks!

If it’s cranking then fuel or spark I would think; maybe fuel pump has quit? Totally a guess without more info.

@FirstGenVol and one or two others had this issue, and it went away after the truck sat.

Going from memory, which is flaky as hell here was speculation it was heat related, and something tied to the fuel pressure relay.

But one other guy had the condition, and it was water damage to his ECU.

Seems like these specific symptoms have been popping up a lot lately ... First thing I'd do is check for fuel pressure.

Where's that damn video on troubleshooting?

Yes in late 2020 I believe. After driving my truck 15 minutes and then letting it sit 15 it didn't want to start. Took me 2-3 minutes before it would roll over. I've noticed there are times when the engine is hot that it doesn't start the same as when it's cold.

Since then, I've only had it happen one more time where it took a few seconds for the engine to roll over. No idea what the cause is.

@Voss , did you get it started yet?

Good morning all. Appreciate your feedback. Was a busy day. Ended up being the crankshaft sensor. Got it replaced and she’s back running again.
    Thanks!

Cool. Someone posted this PDF that shows how the Crank Position Sensor plays a role in the fuel pump circuit. I actually just learned about that point when reading the doc this week, I'm surprised that was the cause, but it's absolutely one of the possibles. Pasting that PDF here in case anyone finds this thread searching in the future and needs to understand how the fuel system works.
