I mounted my gps and Sirius antenna under the cover for the center dash speaker. Made it really clean and simple.

Thank you! I’ve had mine for about a month and can’t figure out the Internet. So I don’t have the weather info working. Do you happen to know if I need to connect my phone as a hotspot manually every time or will it connect automatically?

I just set mine up today as well. I'm thinking that weather and Alexa both need the Hotspot manually turned on to use them?

If you run caravassist on your phone and connect your phone, as long as caravassist is running it will autoconnect whenever you climb in the truck. It should stay running in the background of your phone even when you exit out.

I've had to turn mine on manually everytime. I bet it's a phone setting that I can switch to leave it on F/T.

That's really wierd. Once I open the app, it won't let me close it unless I go into my phone settings and kill it directly. I am on android though, so not sure how iphones would work. But yeah, everything I get in, once wireless Android auto kicks in, I get the notification the HU connects to my phone, and weather starts updating.

    I'm Android.

Are you having to go into Car AV Assist once you get in your truck?

Nope. App is running in the background, I do nothing to initiate it manually when I enter the truck.

Is this turned on for you? I think (but am not sure) that this turns on the function once the app detects the HU is connected to the phone.

    Now i'm just curious.

I'll look into my settings tomorrow then. I've done something to enable this, I'll take pictures of anything I think will help and post them.

Okay. So this is what I've learned.

The auto-connect wifi feature (to enable weather, sports, etc) seems directly tied to if android auto is set to automatically connect and start.

If I have android auto set to NOT turn on automatically, the temp wifi connection wants a confirmation on my phone screen before it connects.
If I have android auto set to TURN ON automatically, the temp wifi connection connects right after android auto initializes.

    However...

If you set android auto to connect if used on last drive (options should be always, this option, and default (set by car)), and then turn android auto auto-launch to OFF, then it seems to auto-connect the temp wifi signal, but NOT launch android auto. At least thats what it was doing when I tried last. This would be if you don't use android auto all the time, but still want the wifi connection to complete for the extra features of the deck.

I turned my truck on and off a bunch of times in a row, so I stopped for now. No idea if it would have an impact on my battery, or blow a capacitor somewhere. Probably just me being paranoid.

Anyways, try doing these, and see if it helps! Hope it does!

BTW, originally I had the android auto phone set to 'default' and the HU set to auto-launch.

Do you have this on in your phone? I had it set to OFF. Maybe that matters...

Nope. My mobile hot spot is always off unless my son's iPad needs a connection in a restaurant.

I'm going to go back out and see if I can get a consistent reaction to specific setting combinations.

So I just tested mine. I have Android Auto set to auto connect. I turn Bluetooth off to disconnect AA. I turn my mobile hotspot on and I can run Alexa and the weather app. I did not have the CarAV assist app running.

Okay. So let's see if we can get this straight.

If you setup your HU to connect to a wifi Hotspot, then everything EXCEPT AA wireless will work. I'd assume in this situation you could still use a usb cable and then use AA that way.

This is a pain as well, because in order to re-enable AA wireless (at least without turning the truck off first), you have to go thru a lengthy process of turning junk on and off on both your phone and the HU.

Ugg. So NOT cut and dry. I guess if you want AA wireless, you can't use the Hotspot, but it should use your wifi for features if you have the caravassist app set to do so.

If you don't want AA wireless, then set it up on the Hotspot, and use a USB connection for AA.

Would audio then work over the wifi? Or can we still have our phones connected via BT if we don't have our phones plugged in?

It's great we have so many ways to connect our phones to these HU, but its seriously now making my head hurt.

Do you have trans temp on yours? I'm wondering if I'll get different PIDs if I use the OBD connector instead of the Maestro data cable. As a side note, I know you can get OBD fusion to display on certain radios...I'll have to find that Info again. What came of your backup camera issue?

I do have trans temp on my home screen. It's below my sports and time widgets.

I haven't gone back into the tailgate to fiddle with the camera again but I may get the time to do it tomorrow

I may plug it into my port tomorrow and validate PIDs and see if any additional guages come up. I plugged the obd connector into the Maestro harness during the install and tucked it behind the console so I wouldn't have to take it back out of the dash if I needed to use it after all lol.

It gives a fair amount of info. Trans temp, RPM, speedo, even braking distance and 1/4 mile info lol your OBD Doctor type plug in gives way more info but I'm pleasantly surprised at what the radio shows

I have that other stuff but I didn't see trans temp. I'll look again tomorrow. Have you messed with the OBD settings at all from the setting menu when you have the car features up? Just curious on what the setting are for...OBD disable, OBD enable, OBD auto-disable etc.

Do youbguys have "rotated" tpms values? I need to get in touch with maestro and pioneer and find out if there's a way to rotate values. It shows the correct pressures, but for the wrong tires...

Are you able to assign or set tire location from your radio?
I have the jvc 10” and i was able to set tire location under the system and maestro menu. You have to drive it down the block and back to wake up the tpms, then you can set each tire by following the on screen guide for each tire to let air out. The car will honk to let you know you can stop letting air out. Repeat for other 3.

Mine was also flipped. My rears reading was on the passenger side.

As of right now, I don't know if there's an option to do that. Seems wierd though... if it can't read the tpms properly, what is it supposed to do when you do a tire rotation? I'm tempted to swap 2 tires and see if it reads the swap, even if it doesn't correct the readings. It might be reading the trucks output, and just not aligning it correctly. So even with a rotation it will be wrong to the same degree...

So I've got the 2 bigger ga wires hooked up to power and ground from the OEM harness. The smaller trio of wires I figure go to CV+, CV-, and Guidelines.

Problem is when I hooked up the reds together, the black to CV-, and the yellow to guidelines wire, I get no video feed. I've swapped grounds and hots. Still no feed.

    Any ideas?

I put my tires to 35 rear & 30 front, the dealer yesterday said they set them to 36.

Before I went to the dealer I had both passenger side showing 35, driver side 30 now they are 32,31 driver side and the passenger side are 37.

I have transmission temp, like it.
