I wonder if this would work just as good as cat guards

I’m sorry you had to go through this. The quick turnaround at the dealer was fortunate, though. Cost is about right (mine was also $7000 for my 2014 through the dealer.)

Many if not most of us waited much longer at dealers to get OEM parts. (mine was 5 months).

You will find answers to your cat coverage concern in other threads. Search for cat shield, valhalla’s shield, or the name of yours, etc. There is usually a solution for the rear cat coverage.

Thanks for this post ! Have the same truck. Bought the same kit, and used the promo. You saved me $30 with the promo, and undoubtedly $5k+ with the kit. $600.50 out the door for all 4x Cats and 2x Rivet kits.

yes I felt very fortunate as the dealer said it was unbelievable to have them in stock at all. Just got lucky.

I’ll do some searching for sure. Thanks for the reply.

Here are a couple of shots of the Millercat add on pieces to protect the rear cats.

I installed the Miller CAT plates and rear shields today. Whole job too a little over an hour. I used a skateboard and block to float the plate into position. Then a clamp to jack the 2x 1/4-20 bolt holes into alignment on the read of the plate. Simple one-person job.

Got everything loose fit. Used the Red Loctite and an impact gun on the security bolts. Really pleased with the protection. I ordered 2x Rivet Nut Tools. You only need 1x.

My one recommendation is on the rivet nuts; make sure to take a look at the small channel in the rivet nut and make sure its flattened out and the nut is drawn in completely. It'll appear as a curved recess before the threads towards the head of the nut, originally. Once tightened, all you'll see is threads.

2020 Tundra Crewmax 5.7L 4x4 Limited, all stock.

I have the same truck and got the same kit. Thank you ! I also didn't need to raise the transfer case. I used a box wrench on the drives side to tighten the bolt to the frame. I used a 1/4" socket with the security screwdriver fitting on the drivers side main panel rear small bolt as the transfer case was in the way. No need to move it though.

This is why I got the MillerCat guards. Installed cost was about the same as my deductible. But I dont have to worry about waiting for cats. Unreal lead times right now.
