@War Machine may be able to chime in on this as well. I know he is a ONR paid sponsor

Which one do you have, the blue one or green one? The green one has the issues you’re experiencing, but I’ve never had that problem with the blue.

The 16:1 ratio is correct. I do always use distilled water in my mixtures, but I don’t think using regular water would cause your problem.

    Its the blue one.

Its gotta be the sprayer laying down too much product, or i dont have it diluted enough. I think my bottle only hold 26ish oz, and i probably had 3oz of ONR in it.
I'll try to grab some more distilled water (need to have it on hand anyways) and i'll just not make a full bottle so i can get it just right.

SunJoe SPX3000. I use one "commercially" I guess you can say. Gets used half a dozen times a week for auto detailing, no issues. Perfect GPM for a foam cannon, more than enough PSI for car cleaning (White 45 degree nozzle preferred), and has a great 3 year warranty. Just pickup a 50' hose or a coupler with an extension hose. I've had to replace it twice over the years. Just send them an email and they'll send a replacement after a "troubleshooting" guide comes through. I just tell them I tried it all and get a new one. New one comes, re-register the warranty, good for another 3. The pump "goes out" at around the 2.5 year mark for me every time...it's the damndest thing :monocle:

What’s the bee’s knees go to for window scratches? Got a decent long one on the rear of the wrangler from what looks like the wiper blade edge or something. Didn’t notice it till I washed the hardtop the other day.

For that, carpro ceriglass and rayon pads. Hard to do, hard to finish out clear, very messy.

After using those, you'll need regular heavy cut compound and polishes with appropriate pads to back the haze down and clear them up. I'd test on an old house window pane if I were you first....it's some rough stuff

Sounds like it's time to use the $50 glass deductible to me.

Yeah, if you've got it and don't have experience glass polishing, then the deductible is well worth it. You're at it in material cost with just a bottle of ceriglass and rayons. Glass polishing is nasty business and never guaranteed. Might get the scratch out, but now you've thinned the substrate too much and it's weak. Or you'll cause scratches with the rayon that are difficult to get out as well. I've never glass polished a client's car...only my own to practice on. Still not proficient enough to tell people I offer it as a service.

Question for leather experts. Had a potential client call with a brand new Jeep Gladiator with saddle leather seats that got a smaller size ink stain. He said from a pen of some sort but not 100% sure...

He said he tried ISO alcohol with q tip, some meguires leather cleaner with no luck. I don't know anything about new Jeeps and minimal about removing stains from leather.

I gave him a few ideas that I've heard about but never tried: hand sanitizer, saddle soap, hair spray, steamer but wanted to see if anyone here has any better ideas I can try?

Going to contact him later today and see if he had any luck a d if not, potentially give it a shot myself.

I REALLY REALLY don't want to mess these up so I'm hesitant to even try myself, but told him I'd do some digging around.

Any knowledge is good knowledge, thanks!

Oh ya, no pics BTW but he said it was smaller than half dollar, my guess is pro a couple few little lines...

I mixed up some Oxi Clean & dabbed it on dried ink on a cloth seat.
It reactivated the ink. Turns out a little spot of ink is the tip of the iceberg. It just kept sucking up more ink from the seat.
There was no damage to the cloth seat I can see. The rag - permanently stained. LOL

Oxi-clean has crossed my mind so ill keep that on the aresonal! But that was also my fear is once it gets reactivated, don't wanna spread it anymore... But sounds like it needs to be reactivated to get anything to work...

    Thanks for the info

Keep a dry towel handy to dab the area.....if you can absorb the ink as it reactivates, it will help keep the stain from spreading

Optimum No Rinse. Can be used as a detail spray, rinseless wash, and just an all around easy to use, very versatile product. I recommend it as part of any detailing kit.

I just bought my Tundra few months ago and my paint/clear coat has some crazy bad swirls, cloudiness, and some scratches. I read through a load of these posts in this thread but have always been a drive through touch free car wash guy. I am worried i will ruin it with a buffer + compound being that ive never used one. Was thinking of trying it by hand, is that even worth it?

If you care about the finish on it, you can correct the paint. I stay away from any drive thru wash.

Yeah its got the beautiful Spruce Mica color so i'd love to have it look as nice as it should. Total noob in that regard but by "Correct the paint" that is done with the clay bar then compound and polish then wax right?

Clay bar is used for removing stuck on contamination that won't come off with wash or chemical decontamination like an iron remover. It'll likely cause some marring of paint after use.
Correction is the compounding/polishing steps. This reduces or totally eliminates the swirls induced by poor washing techniques, claying and or just general touching of the paint when not lubricated. IMO if you clay you'd probably want to at least polish after. You don't always need to clay but if you're putting a machine on it you'd better first.
Wax, sealants and coatings are somewhat similar in what they do. Basically your last step to lock in that beautiful shiny paint after the correction is done and protect the paint from uv rays from the sun, make it look saweet and make it easier to maintain. They all last varying degrees depending on how you maintain and store your vehicle.

Enter the detailing rabbit hole. There's some great detail advice on here if you search. Youtube also, you just need to filter some of the bad advice on there more than here. You'll likely be able to tell the difference.

Before you take the plunge, take it to a local detailer, or multiple detailers, and get some data on having the paint correction professionally done. Most guys have several packages available to fit different budgets. It is very satisfying doing it yourself, but truthfully, it's not for everyone. Maintenance of your vehicles finish, once corrected and protected, is a relatively simple process...and that may end up being the best route for you.

Keep us posted as to your decision(s).....there are a lot of knowledgeable people on here, as well as other detailing forums, more than willing to help.

It's a good, educational one though! I'm not by far an expert. Some really good info on here, just search and read. Theres's detailing thread for interiors if ya haven't already found it. As far as exterior, if you get a DA and practice on an old hood or something it might help ya be more confident. Shit, I just got one and I've been doing minor correction here and there. I started with my own vehicles etc. Just keep in mind that there's a lot that goes into correction. In short, you need history on the paint, which on a newish car isn't as big of deal. On an older car that has been passed down owner after owner, it's a little more imperative because you can only take off so much clear before ya burn through/run out. A depth gauge helps with this but I don't believe they are the end all be all. Just gives you an educated guess as to wether or not you should even do a correction basically.
Continue down the "hole" you'll find good info. I ya can't find exactly what youre looking for I'm pretty sure theres someone here that will try to help. Have fun!

Been a bit absent from the thread lately...life got busy. Some good questions and info here. Question for the boat guys. We do boats and have generally used Meguiar's Flagship Wax. Several of those boats we have seen multiple times a year and I'm unimpressed by those that sat in the water with Meg's longevity. Anyone ever use Jescar Powerlock for fiberglass hulls? I've heard good things and we went ahead and used it on a boat a few weeks ago, but that was a boat being sold so unfortunately I'll never see it again as it was sold to someone a few states away. Got another coming up later in October and plan on using it. I know a few guys here take pride in their boats!
