I have a bunch of old sponges I used for tile projects that get cut up for tire dressing applicators. Not sure if is the most effective, but the price is right.

Fixed my bouncy light bar brackets. Not my best work, but it’s nice and solid now and I didn’t have to pull the bumper caps and valence off

The main brackets that are on the bumper fasteners are Diode Dynamics that came with my 42" light bar kit. The smaller ones that I used for support are from my cheap 30" Amazon bar.

Decided to go ahead and wire in the brake light trigger for the whip module. I forgot to grab pics, but at the back of the rear driver side door under the scuff plate, one of the smaller red wires is the lead for the 3rd brake light. I tapped it with a posi-tap and spliced it to the whip controller lead. Pretty nice feature to have.

Took some inspiration from @memario1214 painting wrapping his grille garnish and decided to paint mine today. I went with a satin black to match the grille and think this looks great now. The 3D printing material used faded over the last few years of desert sun, but roughing it up with a scotchbrite pad and hitting it with a few coats of Krylon prime and paint worked well.

Picked up some used SPC UCAs for a deal. They were a little dirty but in good shape
    7C23BBD1-9ECC-45F8-91D5-6508939A2F96.jpg

Removing the through bolt was a bitch and a half. I finally got the nuts loose using the two-wrench cheater method, but it was sketchy as hell.

I’m picking up one of these next time I have a high-torque spec bolt on the docket
    Mueller-Kueps 745 100 Wrench Extender https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013SXTH04

New arms went in pretty easy, then off to the shop for an alignment and fluid changes on the front and rear diffs and the transfer case
    F5F4CEA7-65D9-4BAF-9D64-63D29AFF6A76.jpg

The alignment ended up decent, but the steering wheel is off a few degrees to the left and there feels like a slight pull. I’ll probably take it back next week after “trail tuning” it this weekend…

I’ve had random bursts of interference out on the trails with my Baofeng and pretty sure it’s something in the truck. Picked up this magnetic mount antenna to run on the hood and see if my reception is any better.

Ever since installing my SP9100 I’ve missed having my rear window switch available behind the shifter. And since I already had the SDHQ card holder mount, I decided to use that and hack up the overhead console instead of spending another $170 on their 3D printed offering.

And @abomb’s switch plate with rear window switch back where it should be. Switch blanks are on order… I’ve only lost one screw down those holes so far

That looks like the same antenna I have. Worked great at T2S. Much better range than the handheld antenna.

Those are SPC ball joints, but I have never seen SPC arms that look like that. Those have gotta be pre-2015 at least! That's when I installed my first set on a tundra and there was zero smooth piping on them at all.

Wonder if I got scammed with some Mevotech arms... Definitely see the difference now that you point that out.

I didn't want to say that because I figured there was a chance that there was a previous design before my time. The bushings did look curiously fresh to me though.

For what I paid, I'm fine if that's what happened, but kinda sucks at the same time. Is there a part number stamped anywhere that I can look for?

Had some custom DT extension cables whipped up to let me move my chase lights between the front and rear stake pockets. The cables are 5.5 feet and are perfect for what I was wanting to do. I'll probably keep them mounted toward the cab most of the time, but I like the option of putting them near the back end for visibility, especially if we're doing a trail with elevation changes, where the cab-mounted lights can be hidden from view. The zip ties holding the connectors to the bed rails are temporary until I get the mounting clips for the female plugs.

How long does the swap take? Do the stake pockets just pop out? Would there be a way to install a rivnut or something so it’s an unbolt/unplug scenario

It's real quick and easy to swap out one bolt from the stake pocket tie downs:
    upload_2022-9-6_12-6-33.jpg
One will keep the assembly in place, and then the bolt through the light mount bracket gets it all back to normal.

You mean bed liner isn't sufficient??

Lol, they're on order and I have some wire loom acting as a grommet in the interim. I used up all my existing stock on some other stuff.
