Mine was also Barcelona Red! Great color. Mine was a Crewmax with 24k miles. MSRP was around 48k. The dealer I sold it to had it listed for 43.5k. It was gone in less than a week.

I think you did fine…enjoy it!

2020 TRD Sport Crewmax 4x4. Leased in October of 2019. Buying out the lease next month. Residual is $38k. Crazy how it's same price to buy mine than it is to lease a new one.

I’m no expert, but I think you got a good deal with it being low miles and a 2019. Enjoy the truck and definitely get some cat plates.

That is a much better deal than I got in January. I paid a few grand less for my '16 4x4 off road, crewmax, limited. It's paid for and I'll put another 150k miles on it before I get rid of it, so I'm still happy.:D

That is a nice color! You got a sharp looking truck! I think what would set your truck off even more is a lift and new wheels and bigger tires. But from what I’m hearing, and what was suggested above, your 1st mod should be cat guards.

Did not see mileage in 1st post - if it’s in here somewhere - apologize for missing it.

In short though - disregard the sticker from 2018. Means nothing now.

Prices have consistently went up - fact is a 2022 configured similarly would cost 60k+ now - comparing even to a 2021 there were price hikes.

It’s not about what it cost then - it’s what it would sell for today. I’m general - assuming you have a typical miles and cared for 2018 - I’d say you did well - mid 40s value easily.

It’s funny - I looked at a very similar truck right after the lockdown of 2020 - sales stunk and the dealer was begging to move it. Offered to me at 32,500 - I refused - said. 32k - we couldn’t meet and I though my I showed him not buying. A year later I was seeing similar asking 47 and getting it.

Gas prices scared some dealers into reality - but inventor my is still tight and deals are scarce. I say you got a deal myself.

Depending on where you live - catalytic converter protection might be needed. Honestly in Central NC - it’s a thing - but not nearly as bad as say Houston or West Coast tends to be. I think I’ve seen 1 cat theft on a personal vehicle in over a year. A few trucks, some buses and school/church vans - but very no trucks and one car. I’m fact the only Tundra non collision I’ve handled was a homeless person with a mental break vandalizing the truck.

You got a great truck for a decent price. The ones who are getting screwed are those buying 2022's for $60k+ and getting a TTV6. They've been shorted two cylinders and their engine will last half as long as yours.

Didn't know you could de-chrome it. But if I do it will be after I upgrade the radio.

I got the Cat Security ones. Quick shipping and easy install.

You would need the ultimate package to get rear coverage too.

x2, I run 5w-30. Congrats on the truck OP, I think you made out well considering the market. Enjoy the heck out of it - you take care of it, it will take care of you. Before my '21 TRD Sport 4x4 CM, I got my used '18 TRD OR 4x4 CM for 41k with 20k miles on it in 2021.

Great looking truck. I agree w/ all the above, get the catalytic converter plates ASAP. I bought from. Talon's Garage and got them quickly, they are thicker than the CatSecurity, I believe. I wanted to support Vahalla's (forum member), but couldn't wait the additional time. Relatively easy install.

Pretty much what everyone else said. Get good cat plates, debadge it, then start a thread asking how to get better gas mileage and your in.

That may be true, but unless you live in the middle of no where, I'd plate up. When I read @1lowlife was waiting 8 months for replacement cats, it was a no brainer.

Halo597 is in NYC. Frankly I'm surprised they aren't already gone.

Enjoy your new truck, current inflation rates are not slowing down anytime soon, and regardless all vehicles depreciate the moment those wheels turn. If you go private and look to a particular submarket like Overlanding, you may make some level of return. Still, then you're spending money to attempt to plug any holes of depreciation.
