I ordered mine late morning on a Monday and I received it late afternoon on Wednesday.

Previously I had RCI engine and transmission skid plates.

Basically, I left the engine plate in place; I removed the RCI transmission plate and swapped in the CCM plate.

If you follow the install instructions precisely, they ask you to drill four rivets into the cross-members of the frame.

I didn't drill any holes and I simply used the same holes I used for the RCI plate. These are pre-existing holes. I didn't drill them to install the RCI plates either. It seemed to work just fine.

I have one caveat. The guards for the rear most catalytic converters are kinda sorta just a cantilever. It would be pretty easy for a thief to bend it down and make a cut on the distal aspect of the converter. However, it would still be very hard to make the more anterior cut. So, I think the rear converters are still pretty safe.

I don't think any shield is going to be bombproof and the best you can hope for is that it will be a very serious deterrent and cause the thieves to move on to the next vehicle. I think the CCM shield definitely does this.

looks great! just got mine installed today. think its the best cat protector available outside of something custom built.

very quick turnaround for me too. ordered weekend before last. shipped on monday and received the back piece on friday. i was supposed to receive both boxes on friday, but typical ups fashion, the front shield did not arrive until yesterday. took the day off to get this installed.

i thought the rear piece would be more flexible to bending than it actually is. pretty rigid actually. however, i am probably going to bolt a strut to the frame to better deter any prying of the rear protector. would even wrap contact areas with some pipe insulation to prevent any chattering from vibration.

something like this bolted to each frame rail.

I'm wondering if Tylers @Classy63 rear plate could be used with this for additional protection?

Is the vertical piece with the CCM logo cutout bendy, or just the two cupped parts that stick back to cover the two rear cats?

Did you get the thicker main plate or just the standard thickness?

the entire rear assemble is pretty damn sturdy, and i don't think anyone is just going to "fold" it out of the way w/ their bare hands. it's 1/8" thick aluminum with 6 bolts securing it to the main plate.

i upgraded to the 3/16 main plate.

very fast turnaround, competitive pricing to protect front and rear cats, and the fact that our rear cats are completely covered made my decision easy.

think its the best cat protector available outside of something custom built.

i was hit last february to the tune of $9,500 being billed to my insurance company. my comp deductible is $500. i spent a little more than that to travel, work, and sleep easy.

oem cats were back-ordered for 6 weeks last year, and as i understand it, they're back-ordered even longer/indefinitely now.

    Too many, but not enough....
That looks harder to install than DE or VS for sure.

    This looks awesome.

Though I have not heard about this happening much in my area (very surprised) I am concerned about traveling for vacation and if things continue to get more lawless it may come to my area too.

But dam, that $600 would buy me some nice new OEM LED headlights to replace my stock 2014 ones lol.

As someone that has been waiting 3 months for OEM cats to come in to the dealership, I'd buy the cat shields.
My cats were stolen on 11/15/2021, my tundra is still at the dealership waiting for parts..
The insurance claim is about $7500.

You can save up and buy your LED headlights later..
No one is going to steal them..

Good points and you are totally right.

I don't have money for headlights either, after dropping $1400 on tires then $320 for spacers and $360 for front brakes.

But I think I need to get a/these shields next and before too long, as I do NOT want to have to deal with getting robbed of my cats.

I feel so bad for all you guys, I can barely imagine.

I had a stereo stolen almost 20 years ago, that's the last time anyone F'd with me.
That was bad enough, but not being able to drive the vehicle will kill me.

I wish we could deploy all over shields to the ground like the Batmobile did in one of the older movies.
I always wanted that to protect from door dings, theft, breakins, repo, towing etc.
    Only in a dream lol.

    Yes, me too.
My stereo was stolen around 1996 in the same parking lot my cats were stolen in.:eek2:

    Funny story;
    I had a 1994 lowered ext-cab stepside Chevy .
Had Kenwood HU, subs, amp, etc installed.
Those trucks were easy to get into, just a screwdriver to pry under the door handle and open the door.

    Anyway, someone stole the HU.
It was one of those Kenwood MASK HUs where the faceplate would fold up when you shut it off.

    [IMG] [IMG]

I had it replaced with another Kenwood with a removable faceplate.
Removed it and took it with me every day.
I had it for 2 weeks, they broke in again and stole it.
It was useless without the faceplate.

Probably the same idiots that stole my cats.
They cut both sides, but only took one side.
I guess the alarm was going off, this happened at noon, and they got spooked.
The side they didn't take was hanging by the rubber hanger under the truck.

I ordered the rear shield as well.

Maybe it could be bent downward, but I don't think a thief could make a cut in front of the cat that would enable them to remove it.

Does anybody know whether a diff drop and carrier bearing drop interferes with the CCM cat shield?

Will I be able to mount the TRD skid plate if I put this on now? Cat protection is more important right now than upgrading to the TRD plate.

The 2 rear bolts of the trd skid line up with 2 holes in the cat shield. Slide the cat shield on top of the skid and bolt them together.

Anyone find it difficult to access the driver side rear bolt and the driver side front bolt to get this installed? It was a pain in the ass for me.

Just got back from Rancho Cardova. Drove up this morning and picked up full CM cat protection.. Had a shop that they recommended to install it. When I got my Tundra I had local muffler shop weld some hard to cut steel rods. Didn't quite trust that. The guy that put on my cat shield said I'm about as good as you can get.

I need something, appears this product ships much faster than some other the other alternatives? I can't see waiting 3-6 months for cat shields.

Is there any pdf or online install instructions? I didn't see anything at CCM website
