Newb installation thread- Pioneer DMH-WT8600NEX into a 2018 SR5 Entune Non-JBL

And I'm also running into the lack of a browser option. Seems like it doesn't recognize my phone's wifi connection.

 

The grey connectors are different for the different model years. You may need the T02 not the T03. I found that out with mine. Mine uses the T03. The other end has a USB, so you would need a USB C to USB adapter and hook them together.

Yeah I'm ordering the C to USB adapter since I have a C cable already. Then I'm gonna skip connecting to the OEM USB port and run it to the aftermarket USB I installed.

 

That would work too. @Brettstation37 just recently installed his unit so he may be able to help with the wifi setup.

 

I got the wifi thing going. Had to change my hot spot frequency to 2.4Ghz. Radio won't run on 5.

 

I have no video and no backup camera.

 

Do you have a video bypass installed yet so that it works in gear? Parked, I wonder if you need to set the emergency brake. The backup camera is most likely the RCA plugged into the wrong one maybe?

 

Yep bypass installed. I'm parked right now and tried with brake on and off. I hooked up the RCA labeled "rear monitor" so..... I'll have to look at it again

 

I believe rear monitor is an output source for something like headrest displays. You need to be connected to the input RCA.

 

Someone posted that the 3.0 update fixed some issues that they were having...minor lag, etc.

 

Got to the car gauge screen and press settings icon from there. This “validate pids” and choose which ones you want

Do you need the mini HDMI cable connected?

 

I have it connected to my new HDMI port. I hear audio but no video.

 

Ok weird. So if I go into the settings for picture adjustment, I can see what I'm casting via HDMI but when I want to view it full screen it won't let me.

 

I have the Mini HDMI to regular HDMI to watch video on screen and can do so while driving down the road

 

I had to do the onscreen bypass to get video.

 

Go on YouTube, I’m trying to post video and not having any luck…type in pioneer 8600 nex how to watch video and there’s 2 guys in a store with unit on counter showing how to do it

The folks who have uploaded the 3.0 firmware, did you see any other major changes on top of fixing some of the lag? The small amount of lag does not bother me and I have a great user experience overall. I'm just trying to judge if it's worth my time.

The "notice" mentions updates to Alexa specifically. I don't use that.

 

Those guys are awesome. That shop is about 5 miles from me. They have the 9 and 10.1 in stock if I decide to replace my current Pioneer.
