If you truly needed a new truck I’d totally get looking at stepping into a 22+. In your case, you’ve got a near brand new truck that most would love to have. You’re also going from a super proven design to one that there are new little issues to address popping up what appears to be almost weekly. If you’re the type who likes to have the latest thing though, it’s your money so do what makes you happy. If I was in the market for a new one I’d drag it out at least another year personally.

These dealers are in it for the money grab - since foolish customers are willing to pay 100k for 22' Pros those same customers must bee foolish enough to believe their 21 LR Pro is only worth X.

PS dealer invoice on 2022 TRD Pro is 64k

They came up to 59k… but they are hard set on their 10k adjustment . I just can’t do that.

No way I would let my 21 LunaRock Pro go for 52. I did Kelly blue book about a month ago on mine with 7000 miles and I could have sold it to one of the dealers that were interested in it. Let’s just say the offer was over 62,000. So now you know why I would not let it go for 52.

Similar experience except it was a 20k markup.

The explanation i received from an insider is that they are so unsure of their inventory they need to make the money when they can so they can make payroll keep the lights on etc. I rolled my eyes at him.

Yea it’s insane. The dealers that are doing markup have a huge queue of people too. Good thing our 2nd gens last for forever because I’m never gonna be able to trade it for a fair deal lol.

I can't imagine having a 2021 Pro and even considering trading it in on a 2022 anything.
As others stated there are issues posted EVERY DAY on 2022 problems.

If you have a hard-on for a Gen 3 Pro, give it a year or 2.
Let them get the issues worked out...

    Just my worthless 2¢..

Personally I’d wait a year or two. Still some bugs on the new truck and the auto market should be correcting over the next year. People are defaulting on auto loans at a rapidly increasing rate both subprime AND top tier loans. Prices are going to plummet soon.
After the supply chain issue’s clear up and the market correction, deals will be easy to find. The used market has a HUGE surplus right now. This crazy market will fall apart soon and then you can forget about crazy market adjustments from the dealers.
