Perhaps an extra overload leaf & the shim will get you there?

I really like the idea of doing it with the springs.

Not filters, but it's pretty common for floor polishing pads as well.

Naw, I meant I've seen this stuff before, but I'd never heard it called hog hair. Is what I was trying to get at. Should have worded it differently I spose

Nah, personal acquaintance, or someome that I saw regularly, or someone I knew as a kid, but age-progressed. This is going to nag my ass for a while, because his IRL name didn't ring bells. I never forget a face. I never forget a name once it registers. But I often fail to put names to faces, especially when out of context to the current environment. Edit: I mean, by all means, not saying it couldn't be an actor situation. Wouldn't be the first time.

Weird part is, the son's friend looks like a dude I used to skate with back in the 80s/90s.

There has to be a "zero hour" somewhere. Of course it's going to be on the land mass that conquered just about every other place on the planet.

Ah, so I'm not the only ugly MF'er whose daughter is lucky to've gotten mom's good looks instead, eh?

My boys look just like me, but way cuter, especially the older one. So when random ladies at the grocery store or pet store say “he is soooo cute” while they have their arm on mine, I take that as a compliment

I am my fathers spitting image. And it’s scary. Photos of him from the late 70s to early 80s look like me but with an afro. Lol

Same here with my boy, I take it the cute part probably came from my wife, but you look back at young pics of me and it's pretty clear, the resemblance. We've been approached a few times to see if we'd have any interest in modelling the kid, but it's not up his alley. Little bastard is super photogenic.

I dunno what happens to most of us dudes approaching and/or passign that 30yr mark. If you saw a pic of me when I was younger, you wouldn't believe it was the same guy. Like, my head looked normal at 20, now it's distinctly ovular. fortunately wrinkles don't kick in for men in my family until the 60s, so I've got a few more years of grace there, but ... dammit if everything didn't get more round and lumpy starting around 30, and full clip by 40.

The other day my mom was standing behind me while I was sitting in a chair and made the comment “I’m sorry you got my side of the family’s thin hair” hahah what’s that supposed to mean!!!

Get old factory ones and cut them to the same width as the axle spring pad (or just a bit longer so they stay aligned with the u-bolts) then bolt to the bottom of the pack?

Drive through rural Tennessee and this concept is still going strong. It turns into giant piles of junk all over people's property. It typically includes 10 cars that have trees growing through them. A school bus that hasn't hauled children since the Reagan administration and multiple broken lawnmowers.

Sprinkle in a few broken appliances and voila, you're a certified redneck! Confederate flag is optional but encouraged.

Then, when you ask to buy one, it's always, "Aww, naw, I'm gonna fix that thing up one day..." until 10 years later, when it rusts so bad it's too far gone.

I stopped asking after about the 50th one. I think I've scored a grand total of 3 cars like that.

It’s not just Tennessee, my Dad has a pile in the woods behind his house that’s now peaking over the 6 ft wooden fence.

Although once a year he’ll take a trip to the junkyard to sell it by the ton.

The 71 olds cutlass supreme convertible waiting to be ‘restored’ is still sitting in my Dad’s garage since I was 15.
