Need a couple testers for heavy duty coil springs

With Toyota replacing the leaf springs with coil springs on the 2022 Tundra we're working on a heavy duty replacement coil spring. Going to be similar to the ones we have for the 09+ Ram 1500 which has 35% more spring capacity, variable rate design and raises the height around 1" - 2". Need a couple beta testers which can install and give feedback to make sure everything is good. Don't anticipate any issues as based off the OE coil springs. These are heavy duty so if you're not going to be doing much hauling, towing, etc then you won't like them as they will be firmer due to thicker wire diameter. This will be for both front and rear so we sell 20x's more rears than front on the Rams but we do need someone to test both. Can't imagine many people using these as plow trucks since they're brand new so best bet for the front is an aftermarket front bumper that's heavier than stock or something similar. These are made in Canada and will be ready mid September so if you're in US or Canada we can get them to you to test. Let me know if interested and of course there would be no cost to you.

I don't have need for heavier springs right now, but I hope someone gives these a try.

I used leaves from General on my Tacoma and they were great.

We've never been too big into the lift and lowering market as we've primarily focused on stock and heavy duty replacements for leaf and coil springs. If there was enough interest we could look into this for you. What would the most popular lowering amount be?

oh i have no idea, i was just throwing it out there, don't know if anyone else wants to lower their truck like i do, im short
kinda one of the reasons i ordered the trd sport cause its a half inch lower in the front, me personally i would just want springs for the rear that would lower and level out the truck and still ride decent, i don't have any large toys to haul around, if i do haul something its usually whatever can fit in a 5x10 utility trailer, so me personally i am not too worried about diminishing trailering capabilities

I’d be interested, my truck goes from DD to fully loaded for off road. Around 700lbs
I do currently have Westcott designs 3/2 on it right now

I pull 14000lb dump trailer pretty much every second day with anywheres between 4000-12000lbs combined weight at any given time.. also I just purchased 8.5’ vPlow I will mounting here shortly, so little stiffer springs are welcome and will be used. Stiffer ride doesn’t bother me, I bought a truck and run 10 ply tires.. so let me know if I’m any help to you.

Big shout out to General Spring, I’ve received both Front and Rear sets of springs for the 2022 Tundra, started disassembly of front end tonight to install new coils up front. I’ll have a bunch of pics tomorrow of tear down and install as well as height measurements and differences!

    Stay tuned!

Dad gum! Those front springs look beefy. I've got the TRD lift kit, and my truck already rides kinda rough empty. I can already imagine how those will ride.

Wow, how does the Tundra like that trailer? I sold my 16' 14,000 Gross weight dump trailer when I bought the truck. I may look for a smaller one in the Spring. I would be interested in how that plow works out. My salesman told me Fisher doesn't have a kit yet, due to the front sensor, and (He said) Toyota advises there will be an overheating issue. What part of Nova Scotia?

Works beautifully! Pulls just fine down the highway, never hearing issue yet, nor ever feel like it was struggling. Actually looking at buying a 16’ as mostly rent it out as a dumpster so generally never sees the max weight of truck like hauling full or rock.
    I’m in Amherst

Full load of apples got me filled up just under max tow capacity.

Yup, have a curt 14k WDH with sway control.. never use the sway control, truck takes care of all of it so far.. might use it if I get into long travel trailer or something.

Well I disassembled front end about 20mins per side to get the struts out with just hand tools, floor jack and impact gun. Unbolt bottom ball joint bolts, tie rod, swaybar link, top 4 nuts on strut and bottom bolt and you can lift it out with one hand while pushing down on lower control arm with the other..

Once out, swapped out old springs for new ones donated by @GeneralSpring for trial, and basically just reversed process to put everything back in, no prying required unless you are adding leveling kit on top which I may add a 1/2” shim to take some of the rake out. But other then that with came apart and back together without any hard work.. maybe 90mins to complete the front from start to finish.
As for the rear, little less work involved, remove wheel, unbolt bottom of rear shock, unbolt sway bar from rear diff and electrical harness for park brake so it doesn’t get stretched. Tip one side way down, pull out the old coil spring and make sure to reuse the insulators of the bottom of the old coils just so there is no squeaking or chatter of metal on metal. The back took about 45 mins to do both side start to finish, FYI if you need a big bar your doing something wrong, or not letting that side of axle drop far enough.

As for ride height I gained 1-5/8” up front and 2” rear, hence the reasoning for 1” leveling kit for the front. satisfied with ride height but my 5’4” wife will complain the next time she gets in..

As for the ride quality, we’ll I bought a truck to work with, so has 10ply tires at 50psi and stiffer springs now so yeah kinda rides like a truck.. I’m sure in a month or 2 it make soften a little but if I wanted it to ride like a Camry I’d bought one. I need a truck to get me 50km to work in a blizzard, push my 8.5’ V-plow, and haul my dump trailer.

Going to ride on this for few days for suspension to settle out and then in for an alignment.

HUGE Thanks again to @GeneralSpring for these awesome spring, can’t wait to Do some hauling with the trailer and plow see how it handles.

Should have it up and running later this week, I work my 16hr shift tomorrow, then evenings the next 4 days so try and get the mount finished up and bolted on.. but decided tonight that I’m gonna make a 1/2” thick spacer to go on top of the strut and just leave about 1” rake in the truck. Just my own personal aesthetics.

Great write up thanks, will use that as reference for when I take mine apart. Was personally hoping it would only be 1” rear ride increase I’ll have to keep looking.

Same here, need HD springs but don't want a lift... Maybe 1in lift max
Let me know if you find any other HD spring options

Most of our heavy duty coil springs will lift the rear 1" - 1.5" which is why we sent out the test coils to know exactly where they'll sit. There will end up being 2 different rear coils designed of which one will be about 1" lift and the other around 2". If you want a 1" we should have something for you pretty soon.

I'm watching this with great interest. I'm thinking of upgrading my springs once I start towing a boat and utility trailer in the future. I'm not too interested in a full lift due to expense and a spacer lift certainly doesn't interest me. If I can gain an inch or two, get a slight rake to offset tow/haul weights and do it for a reasonable price I may end up going this route.

how can I keep up to date on this.. website? Email list? I’m putting my cornfed 2/1 level on right away but would rather put your 1” springs on the back instead of a spacer . Already booked my alignment appointment for the 29th to ensure I actually do it lol
