Guilty!! My dad passed away a little over a year ago, so i decided to keep his car and use it for commuting. Much better gas mileage than my tundra!!

Being an old car stereo guy, I knew I could do this on my own.... also, from being a car stereo guy-OEM connector integration and T harnesses are the way to go. Looking forward to this arriving and getting it installed!
Thank you for your hard work in putting together a very professional (from what I can tell so far) product.

FWIW, I gladly pay for plug and play myself even though I can build my own. Nice to start with something that works and then improve from there vs having to prioritize it and test before it’s usable. I got my first DIR built by puppypunter myself. I stalled a few days on the install, then when I went to do it I was impressed with how enjoyable it is as a mod, it's just barely enough work to feel like you did accomplished something by yourself.

I've done the numbers a bit and I think it would be difficult to beat my price buying everything ala carte. The primary reason for that is the shipping across multiple suppliers, one for wire, one for tubing and heat shrink, one for connectors and terminals, one for relays w connector and tpa. Then there is assembly time and testing to add in as well, and with the license intercept connector specifically, it's much easier to secure the TPA when you have two connectors than when you have to do it with your hands, so if you buy just one you're possibly rolling around under the truck to get it locked in. All of this ignores tool costs, as I use 3 different crimpers and two different wire strippers since the milspec wire is beefier than TXL.

So far I've helped one guy with a DIY for a 3G Tacoma and he had one mistake which he found and fixed. I think he spent significantly more money and took several hours. As it is for me, it's between 30-60 minutes of work start to finish depending on how fast I'm moving.

Last bit, these are made to order and I'm a bit behind due to travel last week but I think all of the other orders are all items which I have already built so there's a decent chance yours gets done tonight, definitely something early this week.

Received today, installed today. Took about 20 minutes, would have taken less if I had read the instructions... its the harness inside the frame, not the super easy one! lol. Great work on the harness. Excellent quality, very excited! Thank you again!

I’m still finishing the move but the store is open. I built one of these last night. Just please be patient, expect 2-3 weeks turnaround and I’ll try hard to beat that.

I think you got it through unless there are two Jimmy's interested in 2.5G Tundra DIR?

I haven't built it yet though but you're #1 in line, I built everything up to yours.

One end goes between the passenger backup light and its plug. Then a Y-connector goes in line under your truck near the spare.

IIRC on the Tundra you use the passenger taillight as it’s closer to the intercept. Thick zip tie is for mounting the relay in the taillight cavity. Hardest part is separating the 8 way connectors without getting dirt in your eyes.

The eight-way was a pain and I did get some dirt in my eyes.

I assume the taillights are different and that there is some complexity as the harness would have to route into the vehicle through a grommet somewhere. We haven’t yet solved for 4Runner.

Anyone with one of these able to get a rough estimate of the length from the license intercept to the hitch receiver? I’m doing my first Tundra w aux output and not certain how long to make it. TIA

Just ordered mine; moved to a new house with an inclined driveway and huge glares of the sun and moon while backing onto the driveway. The LED’s glare as well so hoping that disabling the lights will help somewhat

Just ordered, this is genius! I've struggled with the rear camera since getting my 2018 new and even replacing the head unit with a HD Kenwood didn't help. I came on here looking for a solution after not being on the site in quite a while and as always someone came through! Thanks for developing this, I can't wait to install it. Now if someone can just invent a tiny windshield wiper for the backup camera or a cover to keep the rain off I'll be set!

Installed this tonight before I went to pick up the pizza, yes it’s that quick to install. Tried to take a picture in approximately the same spot. What a difference! This really used to bug me, seemed like a glaring oversight by Toyota, a single down facing light could have prevented this. The glare produced a lot of noise in the video feed. It’s perfect now. Super happy with this product!
