Wasn’t even that tricky. I had a pinched wire somewhere in the door.

I plugged old ones back in and confirmed both switches worked fine.

Removed excess wires and re-ran the harnesses clean (no power for the fold - just ran the blue and yellows and they work now.

…except for drivers won’t fold. It makes noisee and you can see it trying to fold and then gives up.

Sent a note to boost to ship a replacement.

Ah you originally had power folding mirrors....yeah you shouldn't have even had a harness with the Boost mirrors.

No - I didn’t but the Amazon gen 2 switch can supply power, no?

still can’t get drivers to work.

    Absolutely it can.

It sure sounds like the mirror is bad.

Thanks. I finally figured it out with some trial and error. Found using a sewing needle and having someone gently pull on the wire at the same time makes it much easier. Got them rigged up and they are awesome! Thanks to everyone on this thread for making it much easier than I expected.

The video install that I watched said that the mirrors come with the wrong fuse/wiring and that you have to buy a different one off Amazon (if I understood correctly). Is that the case? Mine should be arriving today and I want to get them installed before next week's camping trip. I'd hate to tear things apart then get stuck. Thanks!

These look great. Now you're making me second guess my decision to not go the painted route. :D

It isn't wrong per se, it's just universal. It also will not fit in an OEM Tundra switch opening unless you modify it

Mine came with all the wiring harnesses I needed but my truck came with manual fold mirrors and that's also what I ordered from Boost.

Thanks guys. I have the OEM power folding option, and ordered power folding mirrors from Boost Auto. Hopefully I can figure it out without too much hassle and rework.

You won't have a switch or harness in your kit.

Couldn't find a definitive answer in the thread. Do these have the dimming feature at night?

Since you have OEM power fold (and memory), you HAVE to order from them with the same options picked. Otherwise you'll have a bitch of a time getting it to work with your switch and setup.

    Nope.
I've not found a tow mirror yet with EC dimming

I should be fine then, as the mirrors I ordered had the same functions/options as my OEM ones (except dimming, of course).

Yes, and I'm going to miss that feature, but at least my side windows are tinted, so that will help.

Is this some sort of 1794 feature I'm too much of an SR5 peasant to understand?

Yeah, I opted for the chrome ones. Didn't want to deal with getting them painted, and I've deleted enough chrome off the truck that I don't mind a bit on the mirrors. The painted ones look good, though...

1794 and Platinum mirrors tie into the EC circuit in the rear view mirror and will auto-dim.

I did my 2008 myself - color matched mirror caps (I had the actual OEM tow mirrors), fog light housings, "unibrow" and tail gate latch.
    2 coats plastic adhesion promoter
    2 coats primer
    light wet sand
    2-3 coats duplicolor
    2 coats clear coat

Boost support says they suspect the circuit breaker inside the mirror and are shipping another one. Apparently it’s an easy swap.

It randomly folded when turning truck on Tuesday and but only once. Was a glimmer into my soon to be double folding mirror future.

Yes. Have the relays on hand but after the drama decided to KISS until the as shipped setup worked. It was fun enough abandoning their switch wiring and swapping to the previous gen switch with fold button.

Also - is there a backlit version of that gen 2 switch? Trying to manually find the unfold button for the mirrors is interesting at night.

Just realized you’re in Conroe. I’m up there a ton. We should grab lunch or a beverage.

Unfortunately, no to the illuminated switch question. I've looked and I'm pretty sure @RainMan_PNW has looked.

Most definitely hit me up if you're in my neck of the woods!

Yeah - no illuminated option. The one that you will see advertised on ebay from the “Auris” (European Corolla) is its own microprocessor and isn’t compatible with Tundra wiring from the testing I’ve done (I bought one and mapped the wiring over and it doesn’t have enough amperage capacity to consistently drive the mirrors).
