Mmmm, interesting. Just read the above posts. I guess I'm not in the "know" to understanding what the one week off the @alb1k is talking about. Hope to see him soon.

I don't think the intent is blasting, just tracking. Whenever I see someone missing, that BST thread is where I head to see if they got a vacation. It's also a place mods can link anyone who gets a vacation to see why. I'm sure there may be other reasons also.

    EDIT
: Actually, I guess it's probably a way for other moderators to know what decisions their counterparts made on certain incidents, and saves a whole gaggle of communication whenever bans are handed out.

Tundras.com has the usual rules you'll find on most other forums, it's stickied to the top of each subforum, these four are what trigger 90%+ vacations/bans:
    • Don't shit on other people (namecall, blatant insults, threaten, harassment, dox'ing, etc.)
    • Don't shit publicly on moderation decisions or moderators (it's not like they're getting paid handsomely to put up with BS)
    • No public politics/religion/similar topics that tend to blow up into arguments (which ultimately lead to vacations)
    • Don't talk shit publicly about law enforcement/military ( there are plenty of both here)
Not everyone finds those four rules to be fair and/or tolerable, and/or would prefer it a bit more relaxed. Some feel it's flat-out too oppressive or authoritarian. I get it. Hell, I think we all get it. Especially when those 4 rules have a negative impact on someone we like.

Sometimes it's a tough call, but generally fair, a PM to a mod goes a long way if a call is blatantly wrong. Not everyone shares my sentiments here, though. I understand & respect that, and don't think less of anyone who doesn't agree.

I started a conversation with just a few people, not really to limit 1st Gens, but just to get a feel for interest. My buddy built the itinerary, he's good at that stuff. I lost the little interest there was, mostly because of short notice. Now my buddy has Covid, so unless he swings out of it quick, it's either me and a Taco Guy I met at Red Canyon, or it's just me and the dog. But, if anyone in CA want's to go on a last minute trip, I'll shoot the details over.

It's just a bunch of right angles. Pretty much already designed it with 4 cuts of aluminium & a bunch of right angles.

Working to tighten up my travel packing. Here’s the main tool box. Although sockets need another home. Maybe those pliers will have another home as well.

I looked long and hard - and found them on Amazon. The one roll has long reach box ends 19mm down to 8mm and they fit perfect. The others are standard, two different colors.

    Bull Tools.

Time to downsize selection to what is actually on your truck? (IE: 8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, etc.) Remove duplicate ratchets? Pickup smaller, lighter, better pliers like knipex?

Nope, redundancy is part of the plan. The pliers (adjustable wrenches, channel locks, etc) are proven to me. Nothing you see there has ever failed. And, although I haven't incorporated SAE, I have some on my truck. Those adjustable and off size metrics can fit the bill in a pinch. Now, if I was hiking with this stuff, hell yes.

I think a “most” reason you’re not finding “your” mailbox available for sale is, it doesn’t may not comply to mailbox “rules”. I guess there’s requirements in a lot of places about mailboxes. Maybe that’s why you’ll have to create a unique box that serves your purpose.

It has been my experience that, now that most of it is junk advertising, nothing I do with a mailbox stops mail being delivered. o_O

But, this may be why the mailbox you envision isn’t widely produced.

Does the duck version beat the $2 cheaper version in terms of niceness?

I was going to say, "there's overlap". Below is a decent chart. Some things, like 13mm & 1/2, or 16mm & 5/8 are dead-on. Others can be a little more loosey-goosey.

When you absolutely need two wrenches, and an adjustable isn't an ideal solution, I'm reaching for an SAE in the ballpark, if possible.

You only need to look through the ‘banned’ thread to see what they were.

    I mean, @OppoMojo ? If that’s not a dead give away, then I just don’t know. :notsure:
