I’m running 35 cold right now, seems like it’ll go to about 37 when warmed up.

Gotta bring my tires to another shop to balance. Should have done it in the beginning, now I’m having to pay double.

First tire shop used beads, but I’m getting slight vibration between 55-65mph (60-70mph respectively).

They can be tough to balance. That said, discount tire has always done a decent job for me.

Actually found a spot in CT that works on off road vehicles and mounts tons of larger tires. We’ll see how that goes next Monday.

Hi. New here. I picked up an 08 Tundra back in March and love it, but of course I already need to do some upgrades.

My plan is 37x12.5 tires on +25 or +35 offset 17x8.5 wheels. I'm looking at the Ironman4x4 lift kit.

I've been searching the internet for months but can't find one key bit of information. I need to know if the Ironman4x4 UCAs will fit with that wheel/tire combo. I know there are some other aftermarket UCAs that won't fit. The JBA UCAs for example require something like a 0 or negative offset to clear.

Does anybody know for sure if the Ironman UCAs will work for me? Or do you know of any other UCAs that would work for me? I'm not particularly fond of the uniball and/or heim joint race arms. I'd like to stick with good old fashioned, durable, bushings and ball joints.

    Thanks

Welcome to the forum from TX!

You'll probably find more info in the 2nd gen forum. At the least you'll get more ppl with your year model staring at your post :D

Thanks. I posted here because it was the only discussion I could find that was at least talking about the subject of my question. Besides, the suspension is all the same from 07-21 anyway right? But I suppose I can go looking again.

I'm in CT and was curious what shop you're referring to and where it is. I've had a hard time finding reputable off-road/lift/tire shop. I've used EVB in Danbury before but they have been completely unresponsive.

I feel dumb for going 35’s now. Even with gas prices, shoulda went 37”. All the prep work for them has been done, just chickened out I guess.

I don’t know man. I have 35’s with the SDHQ plate BMC and cannot fit a finger between the tire and plate at full turn. There’s no way I could fit a 37 as configured

Sullivan Tires in Vernon. Speak with Joe (Service Manager) and he'll set you up with Jeff (kid who does the mount/balance for Valley Off Road in Ellington).

Address: 40 West Rd, Ellington, CT 06029

If you want the best alignment shop, go to Firestone in Bristol and ask for Pete (he's the alignment guru).

I'm assuming you have stock UCAs. I have SPC uppers and oversized mud flaps up front. Still have 1" between the tire and flaps. Probably almost 2" between the tire and body mount.

That said my caster is at 4.00.

Don't remember what the Caster was but the BMC uses the SDHQ plate. I don’t have a pic at full turn but here’s one of the BMC. Also note I’m actually running 305/70 Mickeys which are a true 35, actually 35.1”. Most tires labeled 35 are actually less.

I think you've got another 1/2 inch of BMC to actually cut off - even then though, you will have to do PWM to really get clearance for 37s.

I've been on 35s forever and can fit 37s easy. Just waited for the gear swap.

Inside your wheel well, closes to the cab on both sides, behind the plastic fender liner lays your pinch weld.

What you would have to do is cut away the plastic fender liner, and behind that, cut the pinch weld every 1-1.5”. Use a sledgehammer or deadblow hammer and hammer in those welds.

It’ll create clearance for the 37s to be able turn (along with a very aggressive BMC and caster adjustment) and articulate. Otherwise without it, you’re going to rub mad crazy.

18-25 offset being the sweet spot.

My offset it 25. Trimmed the body mount and pinch weld and some front bumper stuff and I have plenty of room normal driving. Once I get it back from alignment today I’m going to see how much dove I really have with articulation.
