It's a pain in the ass to install, driver's side is pure hell to put in, you have to go in blind on there and do it by "feel".

HPtuner? I want mine dyno tuned but no one wants to touch it locally so I'll have to get it remotely dyno tuned.

    Fellas, need feedback and suggestions.

I'm 95% happy with the way truck is, but I'm having issue with first gear power limit and early shift, I've been trying to get it changed but I think guys at D3 is too swamp to make adjustment to the file I'm running.

I've been looking to run HP tuner and reach out for remote tuning, one problem is MPVI2 is out of stock nation wide and they can't give a solid ETA, is there other option? should I find someone who can remote tune via VFtuner?

I would like to get some adjustments made and head to the track before the summer is over.

I think shops using VFtuner are a lot more scarce. You may be best off as far as getting the quickest response to keep barking up the tree with D3. I’d offer to pay them for their time for adjusting your tune in case they’re thinking you want a free adjustment and aren’t giving you any priority in that regard.

    Added money to it.
so I had trouble finding protuners who still wanted to use VFTUNER now the HPTuners supports all the 5.7’s. I ended up just switching to HPTuners.

I made that clear I'm willing to pay for their time, I think they are just so swamp right now.

Minor update: Wrapped my intercooler hoses (the two connected to the heat exchanger) with heat shield covers. Took a lot longer to heat up the IAT and it seems to cool down a lot quicker. Noticeable in stop and go traffic. I'll have to clean up the install and wrap up the two twin hoses connected to the y connectors to see if it will make a difference.

I was actually thinking of doing this with DEI gold heat wrap. Thanks for the validation.

If it wasn’t a pain to remove the blower this could be worth trying too. https://fiinterchillers.com/product/thermal-blanket/

I used their aluminum vecro stuff if its the same company. The thicker hoses are on the big side but still make it with a little vecro showing.

It was my first run so the verdict is out for me. It may retain heat longer too so its a double edge sword. Seemed to pick up less engine bay heat. Lowest temps I'm seeing is around +25 over but I sit somewhere around +27 to +33. I exceed those numbers quickly if I do a couple of pulls.

I think you'll want something that is moldable to conform it the shape of the blower. DEI def makes material like that. Check their site.

Im thinking the colder intake temps are probably less of a big deal for the magnuson just because it uses the MAF sensor for the intake air temp for controlling timing and knock. It probably won’t do much for netting extra power having colder intake temps, but it does add an extra layer of safety for preventing knock if the actual intake temps are lower than the ECU thinks they are.

that looks like the same material as the sleeves I used. Its like a foil with a weave backing; it does retain the shape you mold it to. For the blowers the common ones I've seen offered is more of a spongey thicker material. I looked for a spacer kit too but I haven't found one for Tundra

Can you take a photo and show us what it looks like?

What are y'all getting for mpg? I was amazed that I got solid 17mpg hand calculated on one trip, did 720km and used 101L of gas, solid cruising at 80mph cruising for almost half of the time.

Thats what I used originally on the intake connected to the throttle body. It is pretty easy to work with. Its pretty thin compared to the precut custom stuff I've seen.

They are just a velcro sleeve that wraps the hoses. I was seeing spikes in IAT when in traffic/stop and go. I wanted to see what difference sleeving the hoses would do. So far it looks like it helps stave temps from creeping up rapidly.

On another forum folks have a kill switch for the pump when they come to a stop. Keeps the system from heat soaking while idling. It's still on my radar to do but I want to automate the process so it varies the pump speed at low to no speed.

    IMG_E0281[1].jpg

The rest of the bay is a hot mess right now, none of the sleeves are cut to size, plus I haven't sleeved the other lines entering a leaving the blower towards the back of the bay. Total fluster cluck. Probably wont get finished until Sept or later.

As an example I sleeved both hoses together in this picture but I need to separate them to sleeve them individually.

My last tank was measured in 11.9 smiles per gallon. Mostly city stop and go driving.
Wut? I may have mashed the pedal to the metal once....or twice.
