Looking to do either a front-leveling kit on my 22 CM Platinum or a 3" rear + 2" front and then get 35"/11.5/R20 Toyo A/T III's. Would there be a noticeable difference in ride quality between the two options?

Front kit or Rear + Front Kit

I will do a little bit of off-roading, but I am worried if I raise both and get the bigger tires, I might have too big of a lift for what I need (wife might not like it either). Can anyone speak from experience on these two options?

That 3/2 rear kit won’t work for the new models… no more leaf springs…

Oh shit, well that makes it easy. The front-leveling kit will work though, right?

Some have found last gen front spacers to work, but I can’t speak from experience… I went with the Westcott Designs 3/1 kit…

Someone on here put cornfed suspension 2/1 on and said ride quality still good. Another option. That’s what I bought, just don’t have a truck to put it on yet

you don't need a lift or level for 35x11.5R20..... then your ride quality will still be "just like stock".... with just a little more meat on the ground =) (at least using the stock TRD wheels.... 35x12.5R20 I believe rub.... and benefit from a level / lift). I purchased a 2" spacer level kit, and ended up not needing or using it....

Oh interesting, I thought for 35" tires, I needed the front to be lifted a bit to prevent rub. So did you just do stock leveling and add 35x11.5R20 tires? If so, out of curiosity, what tires did you go with?

Tires made my ride far stiffer than just the leveling kit did.
When it was just leveled it felt identical to factory.
Stiffer E rated tires made the ride quite stiff.

Oh interesting, I've been looking at the Toyo A/T IIIs and have heard really good things about them, so maybe it's just those tires?

I dunno. E rated tires are generally very stiff by design. Maybe someone who knows better than me could tell you.
It’s not unbearable. Just saying in my experience they’re definitely not the way to go if trying to maintain the smooth OEM ride.

What would be the biggest size you'd recommend if I wanted to keep my ride quality?

It’s not the size that’s the issue, it’s the load rating. E is very stiff. I believe D is what the truck comes with. But I don’t think there’s a whole lot of bigger tires that come in a D rated tire.

I didn't level at all, left it stock... I have zero rubbing at full turn on the liner, or mudflaps... truck is totally factory / stock just installed the new tires on the factory TRD rims. (if you click image below my user name, and go to media you can see before and after). I went with the Nitto Recon Grapplers in 35x11.5R20. I didn't really notice a ride change with the E rated tires, but it might be a little stiffer... (changed tires at ~400miles). I can say I like these recon grapplers better than the KO2's I was running on my last truck... If it matters, just finished a big camping trip, and very impressed with the trucks towing vs my 2016 GMC 1500... Zero issues climbing the big hills with the trailer (~6k pound travel trailer).

If you’re running stock wheels consider 275/65/20’s

Thank you for sharing. I was considering those tires, but think I am going to go with the Toyo A/T IIIs instead, just based on some of the stuff I have read. Though it seems like I can't really go wrong with either

So I'm assuming that same size but in the 18" Wheel/rim would also fit stock suspension? Thanks.

Modest lifts do not prevent rub with 35s or smaller. Look at where rubbing occurs (front and rear of the well, maybe skid) and it should be pretty obvious that you'll still rub there when the suspension compresses, and often even if it doesn't. For 37s you might need a lift to keep from hitting the top of the well.

Gen3s are cool because you can fit 35s easy if get the right offset wheels... no mods needed. Earlier models required quite a bit of futzing around... but a *lift* was not required.

So can I run Toyo A/T IIIs on my stock Platinum wheels in 35/11.5/20?
