Whatever this forum told me to do
Valvoline @ walmart. cheap, available, full synthetic.

Heck, If they made one that didn't smell like piss, I'd but it on that premise alone.

I know I’m crazy, but I just do exactly what the service manual says and use the fluid spec the manual says. Difficult concept.

There's no lifetime ATF for the controlled slip transmissions. Aisin begun doing that in late 90s. In some driving modes it allows clutches to slip only so lightly, which brings in more comfort to the driver, but requires ATF with higher than usual antifriction additives. These additives soak the frictions and wear out normally during regular use, being replenished from ATF. When ATF has no more additives, transmission begins to shudder, as the frictions begun to engage when they still supposed to slip. That process of abrupt engagement and disengagement (called shudder) wears frictions very quickly, which in turn ruins valve body. Anti-shudder treatment from Lukas, etc, is antifriction additive. Adding too much additives is bad, too, because the additive will glaze the frictions and they will be slipping all the time and be very hard to engage.

So, do your partial drain&fill regularly, even if ATF still looks pink. It restores additives in transmission and drains out worn frictions and steel plate particles that are suspended in ATF, prolonging the valve body's life.

Your post proves amsoil and other boutique marketing teams are very good at their jobs.

I'm 50:50 when it comes to using OEM spec vs aftermarket fluids.
Engine oil - Mobile 1 or Shell, 5w30 in the winter 15w40 in the summer, 0w20 doesn't come near anything i service.
    Differentials - Valvoline 75w90
    Brake Fluid - Prestone DOT3
    ATF - Toyota WS
    Transfer case - Toyota 75w
Power Steering - Toyota ATF Power Steering Fluid.

Just for anyone that believes when a bottle says its meets or is compatible on it does not mean it's certified by Toyota, some fluid companies will pay to have an OEM approve thier fluid, which Toyota does not do for anything I've seen. That said i wouldn't judge someone for using something other than WS or 75w transfer case oil. Those just happen to be what I like to use.

Engineering by emotion, this is why I never buy used. Toyota's VVT system uses the oil to actuate the valve timing. Change the fluid dynamics of the oil and you change the valve actuation response time and duration.

Because I don't want to hear anything else stupid you have to say, I'm just going to go ahead and block you. Just know any reply will go unnoticed so don't waste your time.

Spec is spec. As my grandpa would say, "good enough for the girls I go with".

Incase you were not aware, 0w20 is only speced in the 3UR-FE 5.7 engine in the USA. The same 5.7 engine in the Tundra in Mexico is allowed to use many different oils. This is a screen shot of Toyotas TIS system I paid a subscription for to use and save PDFs for maintenance. I can post the PDF if you don't believe me.

Yep, I can't believe how many people I have told this too. The same old tired argument gets put forward-'the tight oil passages', 'the engine was only designed for 0-w20 or 0w-16'. Nope, all BS.

Yup, trust me I did extensive research before making the switch and once I seen Toyota actually saying the same exact engine in another country can use a variety of viscosities that settled it for me. Too bad that gentleman blocked me and will not be able to see he is misinformed.

Tired old statement that thicker is better. All BS.

Also never said "tight oil passages". People like you that are illogical, stupid and delusional are why I avoid forums.
