As a former Floridian who worked at a tint & audio shop in the Orlando area for years, separating "good film" and "ceramic" doesn't make sense. Ceramic is great, qualifies as "good film".

Find an authorized Llumar brand tint installer. Have them install Llumar's ceramic film to whatever limit your local/state ordinance permits. Llumar is one of the best products on the market to this day, 20 years after I left that world, and they still warranty their tint for life. You should have zero problems finding a competent Llumar tint shop near you. If you do, hit their locator tool here. Click the "automotive tint" box. Then put in your zip code and search. If you want nothing but the best, when you get their results, click the "Show LLumar® SelectPro™ Dealers Only" and choose one of the shops (usually ones with a red pin) to get it done.

Expect to spend between $225-375 depending on your configuration for a GOOD problem-free install that will never bubble, crack, or peel. Trust me, tint is NOT where you want to risk skimping. It's an absolute bitch to clear off residual glue from improperly installed film and start over, we used to charge $200 to remove failed tint installs, which was $5 more than we charged for the actual install back then. It usually took me about 2 hours to peel, clear, and prep windows for new tint without damaging defrost lines etc. Basically people paid double a normal install price, plus what they paid for the original crap tint job.

Looks like the poly pinch weld puck I bought for my jack isn’t gonna cut it. Didn’t foresee that lifting the jack moves it backward in addition to up. This creates interference with the OEM fiberglass running boards.

Now I need to order the taller puck. :frusty:

I'll gladly take that shell off your hands; let me know if you decide to part with it (though I don't know where you're located).

Are you currently hunting a DC cap in metallic grey?

I just saw one last month, was $850, but mint shape. Seller was in either Asheville NC or Anderson SC, can't remember which.

Going full POR 15 mode here. Base coat for the sliders, final for the weld tabs.
I had it and never used it until now, but their metal prep/etcher stuff does seem like a really good adhesion promoter at this point. I didn't bother with it on the tabs, I just laid the POR 15 up on those.

You'll also have to put a coat of black paint over it for the sliders. POR-15 is UV sensitive unless you don't mind paint fade. It's not like you have to worry too much about rust there in CA.

If you have a non-empty can, use plastic wrap to get a good seal between the can and the lid, it'll last longer. Same if you keep it in the refrigerator although don't put it near the food. lol

I knew about the UV, but good point. They are getting Raptor 2K at some point.
Sweet tip on the lid - I managed to use my half empty can for this part. Fun fact, I destroyed the lid a few times and it there was no lid. The dried part on top was like 3/8" and I could not bash through it with a screwdriver. I flipped the can over and punched a bleed and an air hole in the bottom to get the 1/3 quart out.

I went off the reservation today. Spoon fed a big boy can off Permatex copper anti-seize into my grease gun. Forced out the Super Lube PTFE grease on all 8 corners of the upper and lower control arms. (TC UCA, Solo LCA / (with added zerks).

I'll report back in 500 miles.

BUT, did anything get done to treat the inside of the frame?

Blaster's new product is getting good reviews. I'll likely try it this winter instead of Fluid Film. To get inside use a spray can extension wand.

I was just under there bolting the things back on for now. Got a little reminder that the frame is only boxed in the front. The only part that was welded behind the box, is still accessible. So the plan is scrape the burnt paint and POR15, I feel much better.

I'm not "actively" looking, more like hoping one will fall into my lap.
But $850 mint...I should probably start looking! That's cheaper than I thought (and is why I haven't spent much time on it).

New license plate frame in. Was tiring of the dealership frame being there, but I like having a frame.

I have an extra of these, pay shipping and it's yours. 1st Gen'ers only need apply. EDIT: I think it'll fit in a USPS priority bubble envelope, that's $7.95 IIRC?
