I wish there were real world numbers with the same model same year Tundra with the four systems on them. Harrop, Magnuson, ProAir, Whipple. From what I have read Whipple isn’t bad bigger is better with the right application, ProAir sounds good on paper too. You can find what ever you want to find on each of the four but if there was a real world (Show Me Whatcha Got)!! there would be no fudging on that.? Just put a bigger fuel pump on with injectors hook up the Superchargers and run it on the same dyno??:)

There is a tundra whipple install on YouTube

    Vivid racing I think

    I’ll look in morning

I think that’s the one that shows boost down low is lacking a tad.

at the end of day. Its all about low end grunt. Top end ain’t fun is a 6000lb rolling brick

and ~600hp is about the limit on the stock blocks

so get your low end first, the roots/tvs type will get your there

Is proair = pro charger? I heard that is cancelled.

Sometimes, part of me says what's the point, as EVs are just so fast, which I'm sure you are aware with the plaid, save money and spend it on something else.

Then sometimes, the part of me says, "why not turbo it...... Or why not keep the sc and add turbo..... And why not challenge the laws of physics...."

    All good points

ev’s are brutal. We took a 190mile road trip. Fillup cost $23. Disregarding the cost of the car for now.

    A 500whp tundra is perfection.
Utilitarian and scoots. You can haul shit and carry full size humans.

    Now you are talking!

Was watching GOAT garage (tuner channel) or something like that with a twin charged (both a blower and a turbo) Silverado he dubed the "Superado". That thing was in constant boost whirring and hissing, looked like a fun project until it blew up (I think bad tune on a fuel table); second one caught fire in the bay (I think it was wiring). Unnecessarily complicated but looked like fun.

For reference, it was Goat Rope Garage:

This is exactly my personal experience when comparing my Magnuson supercharged vehicles with my Harrrops. The Magnuson’s have more low end horsepower and torque(power kicks in at lower rpm) than my Harrops. It’s VERY noticeable driving and confirmed on the dyno pulls.

Is this comparing the 1.9 liter to the 2.65 liter TVS? Agreed the Magnuson will have the most down low for sure. It’s spinning faster right off the bat and so it gets into its efficiency range faster. It will just die out a bit more at the top end when you start asking more from it when trying to make more power with some extra mods. A smaller pulley on the bigger blowers definitely helps, but it really highlights how stupid it is to run an even larger 2.9 or 3.0 blower on our trucks.

    Supercharged folks,

What is your KCLV (https://www.tundras.com/threads/kclv-is-terrible-any-ideas.85918/#post-2736286) under 3000 rpm and above 3000 rpm? Do you run 91 or 93?

I am getting between 0.9 and 1.7 degree timing retard in this 100 degree weather running on 91 with additional 2 gallons of E85, and I am not supercharged. Just curious what the supercharger will do to your timing tables.

Nothing since I have that VictorG good good tune :D you don't want to run stock timing, even timing tables provided with the supercharger are often really bad and have retard happening. I think @AZTundra had some logging showing lots of KCLV with his stock Magnuson tune.

If my SG3 tracks it , I'll report back.

I'm sure I was blowing that number up with my intercooler pump NOT working!

I did the @Saltyhero13 90degree trick. it worked. my new relay comes today

The number will go down with a lot of knock, that’s how the final ignition timing formula works. N/A 3UR-FEs will see 10-14 towing on 87 octane. I saw the maximum KCLV on a stock tune to be 18.7 (no knock correction).

    duly noted.

I watch timing - it appears to act correctly.

I'm intrigued by this knock thing tho'.

I'm not sure SG3 has a timing monitor but that would be sweet.

Awesome. In another life I used to work on a few systems with sticky relays. Glad the fix worked for you too even if temporarily. Vibrations can mess with the relay closing, changing the orientation changes how vibration moves through the component.

Here is a screenshot of the knock feedback from the stock Magnuson tune. Is this what you're referring to? I only completed one datalog of the Magnuson tune before flashing Viktor's tune to the truck. A lot of this is over my head, I just try to learn what I can along the way. I can check out my data log if you need me to look for something else.

I think KCLV is the 7th option on the left side. Knock feedback is an ‘instant’ ECU response to knock, and KCLV is a ‘learned’ value on each tank of fuel:

Ignition timing = Most retarded timing value + Knock Correct Learn Value + Knock F/B Value + each compensation
    amount
    Example: 21 deg(CA) = 10 deg(CA) + 14 deg(CA) - 3 deg(CA)

Ok, bear with me, but I think I've got it now. I reviewed the data log and my Knock Correct Learn stays between 11.0 and 11.3. When doing the wide open throttle pulls it spikes to 14.8 -15.0.

Awesome, thank you. Basically, your WOT KCLV accounts for the power enrichment when you inject more fuel to cool down that charge and that’s how you make big HP.

    This is from ProCharger

Unfortunately We are still working through R&D on the Tundra. We are trying to finalize the Tacoma and 4Runner kits and then finish up the Tundra.
Sorry I don't have much more to tell you.

do it sounds like they are still working on it but with all things these days it is taking time??

Seems like it would be quite a bit easier to install than a roots style....or am i overthinking it.

Agreed. it's probably a smidge easier.

however - you will still need to route the I/C & mount the main unit in the engine bay.

and you will still need a tune.

and you will not have the low end grunt of a positive displacement unit. you will have a great top end tho'.
