this picture from TIS shows they are different, the depth of pocket in front of the cup holders is different, the rear trim on the side by side appears to be a part of the piece itself

order the 5 pieces and swap them out?

That's not the part number. It is referred to as a PNC. The part numbers are 58822-0C150-C1 or 58822-0C160-C1, depending on which one you need.

 

What I find mildly frustrating is the staggered height in the side by side cup holders. My coffee cup is tall and skinny, so it doesn’t sit low enough in the left side cup holder. It will launch out of there and onto the floor board.

 

Yea, ya gotta watch the left turns, that happens if you have a tall fast food coke or dew as well...

Yeah. It baffles me why it was done like this. May be a space thing to fit two drinks side by side, but it’s probably about a half inch deeper on the passenger side.

 

At first, I thought I misused the word and had to double check. I was correct, it means uncomplicated and easy to do. There isn't even a consensus of how or the parts needed. One person, you need to swap a,b,c,d, next person, no a is the same as e so swap b,c,d,f, third person, it can't be done.

I guess the whole idea of "easy" is subjective, rebuilding the center console for a cupholder is not easy, uncomplicated, or cost effective to me. I do however really appreciate all the feedback I have received, particularly those pointing out the issues with the side by side cupholder. I would have been less than happy to go through all this effort and expense only to have my drink spill out of the cupholder on the first corner .

 

Gonna need an updated copy of that contract for little AK to put her handprint on.

 

Is there a final on this in regards to what part numbers are need to make this swap?

I successfully changed the over/under cup holder on my 1794 2024 Tundra to the side by side configuration! I bought the OEM parts from https://parts.lakelandtoyota.com/ All what needs to be ordered are 2 parts:
Console Trim Panel (Upper) 588220C150C1 for $70.26
Console Mat (Upper) 586290C020C0 for $19.76

As for the cup holders themselves, I bought it from Michigan-base AJT Designs https://www.ajtdesign-llc.com/ They make a nice upgraded, oversized cupholder that is plastic injected molding (not cheap 3d printed!) and is only $52.00. They also have a video on how to take apart the console so to install the cupholders (also you can find it on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p0-j9Ea1OU )

Total cost: under $150.00
