Toyota paid for my LED Pros

This is my email. When I click on the “view the case” on the status it shows pending. Now this is for the 2nd claim. The letter I posted was for the first claim.

 

So what I posted is for the second claim that I submitted a couple of weeks ago. Now I'm wondering if it has been processed and to watch the mail for a letter or check.

 

Well, brought mine in for 10K service and the recall. Was told they are installing a new light harness.

 

Yep...that has been the consensus so far.

 

Hey guys , just got the check by mail , they paid everything including harness 767.16 total
If it helps , I sent all original receipts showing that items purchased prior of the recall and sent pictures before and after of the truck showing the upgrade

 

Fingers crossed on mine. I resubmitted it a couple of weeks ago after the remedy came out.

 

As long as you showed the receipts with time stamp and photos of the truck , don’t see any reason why they should deny

 

It was all submitted initially. They (Morimoto XB's) were purchased in Sept of 2020.....a year before the recall. They told me to resubmit after the remedy release. This is what it showed yesterday online.

So due to site issues, I had an original claim submitted back in Feb and it dropped off. I resubmitted in early April...ended up having the same claim number. They told me to resubmit after the remedy is released. Once it was released, I resubmitted on May 25th, but had to use a different email address. It would not process with the original email address...the site kept giving errors. The claim number was different with the 2nd email address. I just received a disapproval letter via email from the original claim. I don't remember when the remedy was released, but I'm still hoping for an approval on the latest one submitted on the 25th.

 

Sucks , did they give a reason ? Is it because you have aftermarket headlights?

 

No....I think that they are closing the claims submitted before the remedy release since they told me to resubmit after. I don't remember the remedy release date, but the new claim number with the new email address was submitted on May 25th, which was after the release. I don't think it was out yet on April 4th when the original was submitted.

 

I am still waiting. I got a letter in the mail yesterday and it was the same as the email they sent me. It was dated the same as the email, the 7th but got it yesterday the 13th, snail mail. That was my 1st submission. My 2nd submission is still pending and I did it on May 24.

 

When did you submit the first one? Was the claim number different on the second one?

 

I can remember but it was around the same time this thread started. Yes they are different numbers.

 

Toyota asked for more info on my LED upgrade and then denied my claim. Why did they even bother.

 

Ok sounds like the same theory as mine that they are denying/closing claims that were sent in before the remedy. Fingers crossed that we both are successful on the 2nd one submitted after the remedy.

 

When did you buy your leds and when did you submit yours?

Yes, resubmit it. They told me to resubmit mine after the remedy came out.

 

What web site has the highest reimbursement success rate? I am playing dumb here, can someone post the submit location? Thanks in advance.

I just received a letter from Toyota regarding my claim, and this is from my first claim under the original site that Toyota had up. I filed a second claim, because I couldn’t find my original claim number. Here is what they said.

 

Geez. They know why its being repaired. Also it doesn't take a rocket scientist to replace headlights, so why take it to a dealer. Shit they couldn't even make a simple wiring harness work without it catching on fire. I swear I think Manuf try to get away from paying stuff.

 

When did you file the first one and when did you file the second one? They are closing out claims that were filed before the remedy release. They said that customers must resubmit after the remedy release which was around early to mid May IIRC.

 

I filed my fist claim back in January of this year, and then filed another claim in May of this year.

 

The funny thing is, when I replaced my headlights there was no recall. I didn’t find out about the recall until I brought my truck in for service in November 2021, and that’s when they advised me of a headlight recall.

 

I wonder what the total cost of the new harness and labor is?

 

The labor time is estimated at 3.5 hours so there a few hundred to start with.
