What did you go to afterwards? I don't need mud traction, I'm more of a fire roads and dry terrain person.

Oh that'll be perfect for you then. I saw an ad on Craigslist for 5 40" tires for $400 - bought it with a quickness - Atturo Blades 40x13.5.17 and sold the 39s.

How are those patagonias holding up? What kind of wear/mileage are you getting?

I don't drive the truck too much. I might have 2000 miles on them. The fronts are starting to feather a little. They grip nicely in mud and are smooth on gravel. The tread blocks clear out quickly. Pavement grip is not great in dry and worse in rain. They feel firm and are consistent in corners but the limits of traction are lower. I can easily make the back tires howl (they don't squeal) in first or second gear. MPG at 12-13 highway didn't change from 35/11.50 tires.

Most tire manufacturers recommend at least an 8.5 inch wide wheel with a 12.5 inch wide tire. Factory 18s at 8 inches wide are not recommended. If you do put a 12.50 inch wide tire, you will rub on the UCA. I used 1.25 inch wheel spacers to fix that.

I ended up giving up on 37's for now. I bought some 285/75/18 Cooper discover at3s and they fit almost perfectly. I can make a full u turn going forward but can't back out of my driveway without rubbing. Bought some bumper shims to help with that.

Hey All, haven’t posted in a while. 2018 Tundra CM doing great. Might be moving to 37x12.5x18s Nittos all around. Currently running 37x11.5x18 Nittos Ridge Grapps which is a size only Nitto makes. Had an issue with my front passenger tire which renders me with two, almost new tires in the rear, with a fading pair upfront. All this to say I was stunned by the lack of stock for any other brand through Discount Tire. Wanted two new Ridge Grapps for the front but they are on “indefinite back order.” Sucks, hence the possible change to a 12.5 width.

With Discount being probably the single most famous and largest tire distributor in the country, you would think there would be a larger selection of tires there. Some brands aren't even sold at Discount and even within brands there are plenty of models that aren't sold at Discount either. At least online...

That being said, 9 out of 10 times if you actually go in the store instead of just looking online, the salesmen can look up and get you almost any tire out there, as long as it isn't backordered to oblivion.

Kind of a pain, but those certificates are worth the hassle to me. Those certificates have saved me several thousands of dollars over the years.

And while some places have warranties and guarantees, they are all pro-rated by tire wear. So if your tires last a while, you might only get $50 credit towards a new tire, which is nothing these days. The Discount certificate covers the tire fully all the way down to 3/32in. You just have to buy a new certificate for the new tire.

Actually you do not have to by the certificate for the new tire... just replaced one that failed for my daughter. told them we were selling the car and did not have to buy a replacement certificate... they did not even charge for any labor

To be honest, there was a larger issue with my wheel, etc that caused the problem. I just don’t feel like going into it all. Certs from Discount wouldn’t have helped. The point being, I was in the store and the mngr showed me all brands, and most sizes, and all were 0 for stock. I ordered the last 4 37x12.5x18 size that Discount had anywhere in the nation, though they claimed to have 200 of that size and make as “inbound.”

That is true. But I always buy the certificate for the new tire. Doing so, I have gone through 12 tires on my Jeep with only having bought the first 4 used (the certificates transferred to me) and one new to use as a spare. The other 7 I got free of charge due to the certificates. And being 33x12.50r15 Goodyear MTR/Ks, they weren't cheap tires.

Before I built my Jeep, I also went through probably 6 or 7 stock sized tires using the certificates.

So yeah, I don't buy extended warranties on anything, but I will ALWAYS buy the Discount Tire certificates, and because of that I won't buy tires anywhere else.

I just picked up my first tundra last week. After reading this thread about 3 times through during my truck search over the past couple weeks I think I’m about to dive into the 37s right off the bat. Those of you running a 13.5 how is your clearance. And how much more cutting was involved. 13.5 seem to be about $110 cheaper per tire.

I'd like to submit my request to join the Dirty 7 Club...I even got a spare!

37s on 17" wheels might be my favorite look on these trucks. And the 4-5 inch lift doesn't look so giant now that the big tires are filling up the wheel wells.

I can't wait to test these bad boys out!

May sound weird but getting new tires wondering would it be easier to fit an A/T 37 then a M/T would anyone know? I think I’m gonna go with the new Mickey Thompson boss

Everything I need has been ordered but tires. Wheels are on the ups truck. About a month or so out on the suspension I was told. Just a waiting game at this point!

I went with the fox 2.5 setup from Accutune. Ordered some shackles from coachbuilder this week. I ordered icon billet uppers couple weeks back when I started my truck search. I was going to go with a lesser lift but that buy once cry once really got me!
