    I'm not sure what all you guys are talking about in terms of a remedy. I took my truck in for service on May 14th and there was no fix at that time.

    I got a letter in the mail last week telling me the remedy was available. According to the letter anyone who replaced or “fixed” the issue prior to the remedy is eligible for a refund from Toyota

    Only if it was done prior to the recall....not prior to the remedy. Anything after the recall date of Sept 2021 will be denied.

    Just received this in an email from my submittal months ago:

    Thank you for contacting Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc ("TMS"). We recently received your request for reimbursement consideration for work performed on your Toyota. We are sorry to learn of your situation and for any inconvenience you may have experienced.

    After considering the paperwork submitted, we have determined the following information is needed to continue our review:

    A separate detailed statement written by owner stating the following:
    Reason the vehicle was repaired?
    The owner's diagnoses?
    The repair performed to correct the concern? If part numbers were not provided on the original invoice, please include them in the written statement.
    Proof of Ownership – Copy of registration, title, bill of sale, trade-in agreement, or power-of-attorney over estate.
    Proof of Payment – Copy of the cancelled check, signed credit card slip, credit card statement showing payment was paid in full, a zero balance contract, or proof of other financing. If the repair was paid by cash, please provide a letter from the repair facility on their company letterhead verifying the amount paid by cash and signed by the manager. Please do not submit a duplicate copy of your invoice as Proof of Payment.
    A detailed and itemized repair order/invoice, with part numbers, from the repair facility showing the repairs and labor performed. Please provide a clear copy of all pages of your repair order/invoice.

    When did you purchase your leds and when did you submit the claim? The claim does have to be resubmitted after the remedy was released.....which was just released in the last month and a half or so.

    Bought and installed months ago, never submitted more than once, so mine looks like it was never "lost" in the Toyota system

    Heard back from Toyota. Denied. But I will be calling today because I want an explanation to this letter. Makes no sense.

    When did you purchase your leds? It doesn't make any sense to me. Some guys got their claim approved for upgrading to the LED headlights. The customer had no way of knowing what the issue was prior to the recall. Please let us know what they tell you.

    Ok so if your letter is identical to his, they were denied because you guys upgraded after the recall release of Sept 2021.

    That's interesting...now I'm wondering why they denied it. It could be certain paperwork missing? You would think the letter would be better detailed as to why it was denied. All you did was get the Pro Led headlights?

    I edited my last post. But it was bought 7-24/21. The receipt has the pro lights and rear sway bar, that’s it. I sent them the receipt, CC charge receipt and proof of ownership I.E registration. I also sent them a letter explaining why I did it. I will be calling them and see if I can escalate the issue. Funny thing is my case is still pending when I just looked it up.

    Yeah that's crazy. I can't even see mine. When I log in and check, I get to where you can submit a new claim. It doesn't show mine. It was there until they messed with the site. Even the resubmitted claim 2 weeks ago doesn't show.

    Didnt dawn on me that I had a previous claim. So the letter I just got was for my last claim not the one I recently put in. That’s why the recent one is still pending. Don’t know if should call now and just wait till they review my second claim?

    Has anyone swapped to the Pro LED housings (at their own expense) and gone in to see if they will remove the open recall status on your tundra? I wouldn't want to have an issue if I ever sold it down the road and the car history report came back with an open recall and it couldn't be performed. I have the pro LED's on now and i could swap them back next time it goes to the dealer if it will be a problem.

    If I ever sold it the pro lights would come off. Halogens would go back in.

    When I did the second claim they sent me a follow up email. In that email there is a link to view case. That’s how I check mine.
