Nice! Glad it worked out. Ima be doing same on my truck one day when I’m not so lazy, but the only thing different I’m going to be doing is soldering the wires instead of just wire taps.

Thought about doing that but there isn't much space to get your hands in there to do a proper strip and solder. Plus the amount of wire that isn't "wire loomed together" is about 3 inches

Hello everyone. I have a 2022 TRD SR5 and will be adding these back ports. I have been unable to find the correct 120v plug using that part number. Is there a full part number? In the photo i see 85530D. Which returns too many 12v accessory plugs.

I’ll deal with the on/off button next I’m looking for a schematic to figure it out

So then you need to remove the entire center console to get the power from the center console usb, right? Is there another power source closer, such as the rear part of the console? I didn't want to remove the entire console

The 120 comes from an inverter which is located on the bottom of the rear console. I saw it last night and tested it and it is necessary to connect either 120 volt in the bed or in the rear cab. Also, your ignition needs to be on and the switch for 120 v needs to be on as well.

Does anyone know what the long green harness is for? I assume it is some kind of temperature sensor

Its just dumb that in 2022 a 60k fully loaded SR5 doesn't have a rear usb... Even my 2012 Tundra Base has a cigarette plug you can use with usb adapter. Toyota rear usb should standard on all trucks, its a $5 part at best.

Yes it is... the 2022 Tundra as nice as it is and as much as it cost.... Toyota did some things that I would consider to be very bad for a $60k vehicle - withholding the rear USB so you can pay $350 plus at the dealer to install. Another issue is the media center. You can only use Apple Play or phone mode (which allows you to use your phone handsfree).

That's what I would do also. I've installed 600W PSW inverters in five Toy trucks. Hook to the + battery post, then to a circuit breaker, then to the inverter in the cab. Ground the inverter to a seat bolt. That's the basics, but one can fancify it with a low-voltage disconnect, AC cords going to 115V plugs in the cab and bed. Please share details of your install.

Oh there is a dealer option to get it installed after the fact? I must admit I am not as handy as some of the folks here (definitely know my limits) so that option may work for me.

If I understand you correctly on the phone thing I thought it was more of a wireless CarPlay issue (using both Bluetooth and WiFi to transfer all that data) vs wired CarPlay utilizing the USB?

This is my first wireless CarPlay vehicle so I am learning here.

My 20 has cup holder and a charger. The limited and higher has A/C vent and no charger, if I recall. Kinda seems messed up that a limited wouldn’t have a charger. And why would Toyota remove it from the 22 model when the 20-21 has it.

Oh they removed a lot of things…
The base SR5 used to have a seat back pocket and fold down cup holder integrated into he backseat (with the base cloth seats)…

    no more on the 22

so it is what it is

I think it's the Key antenna assembly if I looked up the correct connector in repair manual.

@Buellride Do you think part # 90980-12D25 is the same as what I have circle in one of your installed picture? I am trying to figure out if the connector for the center console USB port is the same connector for the back of the rear USB port. In your picture, it looks like it is the same connector but I want to confirm before I start buying parts. Thanks in advance.

Yes, that is identical connector to the front USB port and what you would order from the Toyota parts dealer. I think the part from Toyota of Olympia, WA was something like $3.85, took 1 day for it to arrive at the dealer. Of note if you get the pigtail wire from Ebay, make sure to order 2. Also the wires that make up the Ebay pigtail are a smaller gauge to what is on the OEM wiring loom.

Lastly...important safety tip (just kidding). While I soldered and shrink tubed the rear connector plug wires to a donor set of automotive wire to run to the console USB power and ground, I would highly recommend that the connection to the front console wiring loom be a "wire tap" and not a splice kit....JUST in case you don't get the correct wires connected the first time. It happened to me and the rear USB didn't get power, it was simple to just unplug the donor wire tap and switch where I was plugging it into on the tap. After that you can create a more permanent connection if you so desire....but so far no problems and I have to semi-off road every time I drive on my dirt and gravel 1/2 mile driveway.

    The outlet p/n is 855300C100C0
It will require an inverter and associated wiring to function.

Is there a site either subscription or single purchase where someone could get the full tundra schematic?

Is the plug for usb power plug (90980-12D25) truly a Toyota part? Can I just purchase the connectors on Digi key and the crimp connectors to go with it as to not have to use any wiring taps at all? What are the part numbers for the connectors bare from Toyota if they are a toyota only part (which i doubt)? at least a datasheet for the pigtail so i can determine the compatible part number myself.

For reference, attached is a photo of an old older from digikey when i created the tacoma wiring harness for my anytime front/rear camera since i didn't like the options available on the market.

Honestly, if you can wire an electrical outlet in your house you can do this installation. The hardest part is buying the parts, removing the trim.....
