Anyone else going to be running longer studs for the front wheels? I should get my 20mm longer studs tomorrow and I’ll take some measurements and photos in comparison to a new OEM stud so others can decide if they want to get them.

No plans on doing so. I will check once I have the rrw wheel on the oem studs see how many threads are engaged.
I have been running aftermarket wheels with ET lug nuts for the past 8 years with no issues.

I'm definitely interested in your findings though.

Same as @TheBeast as long as the RRWs are no different than any of the other wheels I’ve had from Fuel to Methods and several others I have no plans to change them. Running the ET lugs has worked fine for me for many years. If the lug holes are big enough to accommodate ET lug nuts and I get 8-10 threads I’ll be happy. If longer studs are needed I may have to find out more about the ones you’ve bought however.

I had some thoughts on the protection rings and I’m wondering if anyone has answers.

    1. Should the rock protection rings be installed after the tires are mounted, or before? I would assume that after the tire is mounted is best; but not sure.

    2. Is it likely that the protection rings will scratch up the surface of the wheel in the areas they make contact? I don’t know if anything is protecting the wheel from scratches or not. I would think it’s bound to happen with vibration and dirt getting between the mating surfaces.

    Any thoughts?

Not sure about these RR7's but my last set of RRW RR5-V's did not have the lug hole bored big enough to accept et lugs. I tried 2 different brands of lugs to no avail. I tried Gorilla brand and some Amazon ones. Hopefully RRW et lugs work with the new RR7'S

I was being wishful that RRW would have made the lug holes larger by now on the RR7s if some customers complained with other wheel models. If not I’ll be exploring other options.

I am not in a hurry coz I just placed my order on 2022 tundra limited 2 days ago. I’m just hoping that there’s another group buy this year. I want that RR7 in bronze set of 5. Those are lit!

If anyone who ordered beadlock rings in black and doesn't want them let me know. I plan on ordering some but willing to take them off your hands if needed.

I did a write up on how i swapped to longer studs that are the same thread pitch as the oem rears. Expensive yes but they are oem quality. I bought the dormans as well but the knurl was not big enough for a tight fit like oem.

I’ll keep you guys posted, I know those Blackhawk ones from Japan that @Mrf1987 used are OEM if not better than OEM quality, I just wanted to try out a cheaper option before I drop 100 bucks on just shipping.

I wonder if we all ordered at the same time if shipping would be cheaper? Might be a way for all of us to save some money

    1. install them after.
    2. that is a good question but that ring will be bolted with 20+ bolts so I don't think it's moving anywhere to scratch the wheel surface.

You may have better luck on the Tacoma Forums for your Lug Pattern for those as well. I don't see them posted often at all. TRDJon has them on his '22 white Off Road they look great on it!

Ok studs came in, quality is very nice, on par with OEM for sure. Sizing looks to be perfect. I need to swing by work to grab the stock stud for side by side pics
