I've never heard of a factory HUD being installed after delivery, at least not easily. Considering you need a special/different windshield, a new dash, wiring, etc. Most people say it's going to be cheaper to sell your car and buy one that has it installed.

There are plenty of aftermarket options however, they just aren't as fancy.

usually the going rate for toyota just for the parts is 3x min to 5x the factory cost for major items (2x-3x on minor parts). since the AQ package cost is $3k, you are probably looking at $9k just to get the parts and not including the labor.

when i looked up the cost to add our KG option classic running boards, the PIO cost was around $595, getting the parts afterwards was around $1100-$1500 depending on what oem parts counter you went thru.

this was discussed in a thread in the 2.5 gens

edit: just a reminder, toyota never sells anything as a kit, you have to piece meal it thru the parts catalog.

First time seeing heads up display thanks for pic. Does anyone have pics of their black Crewmax with Fuel Rebel 6 Anthracite 20x9 +20 offset on it? Still waiting for my Limited and would like to see this combo before order the rims.

I have a 1794 with I think is all the bells and whistles

Does the heads up display, show the speed on the windshield? If so how is that activated?
I have the digital gauge display

As long as you have the advanced package optioned then you have it. I don't believe that was standard on the 1794. Just went back through the "build" part of Toyota website and it shows it as an option. Not a standard feature. There will literally be a "hole" in he dash, right near the window in front of the steering wheel. roughly a 4 x 8 inch box cut out (maybe larger.. just an example).

Shit, no go. I would’ve really liked the HUD.

Although the power running boards and center console “rear cupholders” and thin little flap storage are nice so I’ll survive.

HUD should be standard on the 1794!!

Side topic, anyone found a good center console organizer?
I robbed the one from my ‘15 tundra and it fit.

What's crazy, is after sending you that link.. I went and did a fake build on the Capstone and looked at options. It says it isn't an option at all. It comes with the same package as the 1794, Platinum and Limited can get. Only difference is, Toyota removed the HUD as a part of that package. Not sure why. But someone at the top of the decision making ladder didn't want it in their personal Capstone I guess.

Just checked. Says “unavailable” for the capstone. Wonder if it has something to do with the upholstery. Maybe Toyota just didn’t think capstone owners would want the HUD over having a clean dash.

Hate the 1up haha. So hard to adjust, since I have kids bikes and friends bike etc. Going to just go tailgate pad to avoid the nightmare. Rack covers the rear view camera as well. Great looking patrol though.

its standard with capstone. dont look at the package/options listing thru the build process. those will never show you all the package/options you can get on a trim.

if its a standard feature, the package/options page will always show as N/A since it already comes with it.

One of the reasons I ordered a Platinum over the Limited was the HUD. the other one was the main display. I can't believe the 1794 and Capstone don't have it. to me the 1794 would be equal in trim level and Capstone highest trim than why not?

1794 is just a variation of the platinum, hence its parts of the AQ package. capstone comes standard.

I actually just wanted a video on youtube about mounting the camera. The guy I watched used a screw with a large head and it held super solid. That guy said he was going to work on a bracket himself to sell in the future. But that one screw gets installed just below the camera and the head secured the camera really well from the bottom side holding it in place.

I didn't. My SR5 didn't come with it. But I'm hoping one can be added at a later time.

Wish I coulda gotten a 6.5’ bed. But still happy how nice this truck is with a bike loaded. Just rolled over 3000 miles on this trip to NJMP and will be doing another 450 miles to Toronto Ontario Canada tomorrow.

Man, that’s dope. I HAD to have the 6.5 foot bed. But boy did that add time. Nothing else I needed was tough.. but the need for the standard bed had the dealership telling me they didn’t know how long it would be for the truck I wanted. I did narrow it down to 2 colors, 4x4, crew max, platinum… but they said with the 6.5, who knows how long it’ll be.

Did yours come with the Yokohamas or Bridgestones? I plan on putting a set of Yokohama Geolander AT G015s on. I live in the NW and need a traction rated tire. It was between that and the Falken AT3W… I just think the Yoko will be much better in the rain. For reference, I do work for one of the larger tire installers in our warranty side of things. So I see all of the complaints. Neither of those two really ever have any from customers. I ran the KO2 for my last 2 sets, over 8 years… just learned I never need anything that aggressive.
