My truck is approximately 12 inches short than my garage at about 233.5 inches, garage at 246 inches. I needed something for parking my truck just inside the garage door. Little woman suggest a tennis ball on a string hitting the windshield. Taht is so not my style and that some old man stuff. This is what I designed and created with about $95 worth of parts.

Some of you seen this in another thread so I decided to start a new thread. I'll draw up a schematic and add it to this post in the near future.

    Hmmm

Ive always used bricks on the floor that tell me when I’m where I need to be.

this is a nice idea though

    Super precise?

if you see my tundra fit post in the f-150vs tundra , a new tundra is going to be super tight but it does fit so this could be the ticket

I used a 4x4x16 and had permanent marker marks on the floor for my 03 Tundra and 20 Tacoma, but someone keeps kicking it out of the way either by accident or perhaps on purpose.

Aside from using the parking warning alarm or whatever it's called when I get close to the front wall, my backup plan is a strip of red duct tape on the floor. I park my truck spaced properly in the garage and then I put a strip of red duct tape across the floor where it's visible in the rear view camera. If I can see the tape, I know I'm in far enough.

The duct tape plan has worked great on my wife's side of the garage as well. There are outward opening closet doors on her side and I marked the path with the tape. If her SUV is outside the tape, we know the doors can't swing open and hit her car.

Custom bug spat pattern hood, grill & bumper. Dead Live Oak leaf collection under hood, cowl and lower fenders. Beach sand custom floor covering.
Nifty idea. I decided to go with a system I could take with me. Anytime backup camera. Has a front camera and allows switching between the new front and existing rear.

I'd trip over anything placed on the floor when the vehicle was out. Old clutz that I am.

I just back in and use my backup camera to see how far away from the wall I am. DONE! No extra cost.

    All kidding aside.

Congratulations on the engineering of a solution. Got to love the tenacity of someone with a will. Then thanks again for sharing the design with the forum.
